Ring Alarm Sensor Installation in Double Hung Windows

Today we will discuss how to install the ring alarm sensor on a double hung window with a single or multiple security stop with the use of the slim magnets installed in specific locations on the glass as to not inhibit the function of the window and minimize the impact of the view. This video makes aware of the second generation sensors, they should work as well, but are not used and are somewhat bulkier.

I think you may be misinformed about the Gen 2 sensors. They are actually considerably smaller than the Gen 1 sensors. Everyone complained about the size of the Gen 1 sensors and that is one of the reasons they released the newer ones

We have windows that open strangely. We have some windows that open like yours, but to the side, as well as some that crank open inwards, towards the inside of the room. Will these sensors work with those type of windows? I don’t want to buy the extra sensors if they won’t work.

Yes, just set up with a closed window. Those that move away on open should work fine.

Do you think a regular magnet will work ? I seen somebody use a disc magnet but was for a different security system but for the same purpose

Some magnets are stonger than others, you can test them, your mileage may vary.

No but I heard that in conjunction with Alexa there is a glass break sensor.
