O.k. I'm a total noob when it comes to Ring products (picked up the peephole cam just recently), my question is can this be mounted on the awning over my door and still detect motion and act accordingly? I live in a rental and I doubt that they would want me to drill into the brick (there's already a very cheap and useless solar light there that can be easily swapped out)

As long as the sensor is not blocked and faces in the direction you want it should be fine. These are pretty light so you might be able to mount it with some 3M tape or something like that. Good luck!

Use 3M double sided tape ☺️
