The twelve bells of Christ Church Cathedral hang in a separate tower to the cathedral, above the famous fan vaulting. The bells are a very old style twelve with a tenor weighing 31cwt (1585kg) in D dating from 1589, cast by an unknown founder. Some people say the Cathedral's bells are dire but I disagree. They're characterful and not run of the mill like bland modern Taylor rings of twelve.
