What I think is so cool about these All Starr lineups is that you get to see and hear all these great musicians step outside their normal box and play songs and styles that they may not have normally ever gotten to present to the world. It really shows how talented and versatile these folks are.

This is from Ringo's first All-Starr Band tour in 1989...Hall of Fame lineup: Rick Danko, Levon Helm, Dr John, Billy Preston, Joe Walsh (Ringo's brother-in-law!), Clarence Clemons, Jim Keltner, Nils Lofgren...Incredible! I'll never forget what Rick told me after this tour ended...When I asked him what it was like touring with Ringo, he answered without hesitation: "Best time I've ever had on the road!"

Sometimes if feels like I'm the last one on the planet to enjoy something so amazing. The lineup in this show is incredible. It isn't easy to get all this talent to share the same stage while leaving your ego's at the door, but that's what seasoned musicians do as they are all past "look at me" and now just do what they do. But that's always been the beauty of great musicians; make what you do look easy, and for them, it is. Thank you Ringo for getting all these wonderful musicians together and making musical history, one song at a time.

My Pop was such a vinyl junkie and music fan I had such an education as I grew up. He'd tell me who the band was, time of the album's release and a bit of context as to what was going on in his life and life in general. I've seen Ringo 3 times but that first tour with this band was the best ...so much talent! ⅗'s of the Band, Joe Walsh, Billy Preston, Nils Lofgren, etc...just some incredible cats. I had the pleasure of seeing Ringo and his All Starr band in the early 1990's at Camp Pendleton. The stands were outdoors and we passed through a gate (no metal detectors) that was being watched by Marines. There couldn't have been more than 3,000 fans in attendance. Everyone had a great time that night. My seat couldn't have been 40 feet away from Ringo. Joe Walsh was a hoot, running up and down the stage.

Boy, talk about truth in advertising - what a great lineup! This concert underscores The Band's talent and versatility as a backing band. Listen to Levon Helm's harp on "Rocky Mountain High" - simple, tasteful lines, but with a tone worthy of Butterfield or Cotten. The other Stars are also great, playing as a team rather than a bunch of ego-hungry individuals. Two paws up from this reviewer!

According to my grandfather, when the Beatlees first came out Ringo was not appreciated by anyone except by the Beatles themselves. As time passed critics recognized that the real art of drumming was not the fancy solos but contribution by the drummer to the composition of a song. Like cooking, one needs add jusst the right amount of spices, not too little, not too much. Ringo is the most artistic drummer there is. He perfectly matched the Beatless no matter what style they originated

Can't believe 5 of these guys are dead now, but Joe Walsh has miraculously survived his lifestyle to be 75 as of 2022. Great lineup, which Ringo always has. I'm guessing they changed this version of "The Weight" to eliminate the 2/4 bar at the end of the chorus so it wouldn't confuse everybody & kept it 4/4. It works fine; it's just not the original version. This is about 4 years before Rick Danko died in his sleep.

I saw Ringo live only once before, it was when I took a train to Edmonton, after Ringo filmed “Caveman”. We partied for hours. Sir Ringo and I where hearts partners and we won! I was a drunk 17 year old who thought he knew it all, I didn’t even realize I was partying with a Beatle, despite all of his hints. Like, I offered him a discrete toke to take to the washroom and he said, “No, no, no, no, I don’t smoke that no more.”, and he was as close as my monitor. The day after my trip I heard it was Ringo. I'm very fortunate to have a ticket to his next concert here in Vancouver :))
