"Work to Do" is a 1972 funk song by The Isley Brothers, released on their T-Neck imprint. The song, written and produced by the group, was issued on their 1972 album, Brother, Brother, Brother, and charted at #51 pop and #11 R&B upon its initial charting. Over the years, the song has gotten much more success thanks to cover versions by the Average White Band in 1974 and Vanessa L. Williams, who turned it into a Top 5 R&B hit in 1992. The song is about how the narrator tries to explain to his girlfriend why he's working late hours in his job explaining he's "taking care of business (at work)" and while he'd love to stay around her, he has "so many things to do" to make it a better situation for them both.

This is so so freaking awesome. I will be listening to this over and over. Obviously Hammish has been sadly overlooked by the USA market and artists collective. Thank you to Ringo Star for this gem. I am bouncing up and down dang it. One of my favorite IB songs from my childhood. W 0 W!!!

Give me Ringo's concerts to Paul's as Ringo & Co is much more fun & viva la difference. Paul feels trapped by his own success & his band are just there to be backing musicians unlike Wings which was a band despite having McCartney & his singing is ropey now. Ringo is awesome & along with Ian Paice inspired me to be a drummer. but its just an average white band without Steve Ferrone this would be childsplay for him. Hear him oin love has fallen on me by Chaka Khan to know what Funk drumming is
