I used to have a shop and website selling Thomas the Tank Merchandise, the researchers for this show rang and asked if we could donate anything Thomas the Tank Engine with the promise that if it wasn't used it would be returned. We sent over £200 worth of gear, apparently Ringo was in denial of him narating TTTE and wouldn't discuss it. When we spoke to the researchers after the show, they had already shared the merchandise amongst themselves!!

*Skinner got 'had' because Richie didn't use that style of signature in the '60's* (I'm surprised that someone in show-business could get 'taken-in' so readily, especially if he's a 'Fab Fan') *The real 'tell' on his 'signed-piece is the paper & inking of the 'BOAC' flyer or coaster or whatever...the paper should be showing it's age because 'manila-type' adverts like that begin 'shedding' from age and become 'limp' and the copy-ink should be showing signs of 'blotting' where the lettering is no longer sharp and crisp* (The best thing is to 'compare & contrast' with another flyer of the same era...and see if they match in appearance) (Ringo knew it was fake as soon as he looked at it... )

He kind of is and they kind of all are. I can totally understand not wanting to talk about the Beatles, on the other side of that though is totally irrational to think you're ever gonna shrug that off. I'm sorry but if Lennon, McCartney and Harrison couldn't ever overshadow the Beatles with their solo work then Ringo isn't gonna either. It pisses me off when a star gets annoyed at having to talk about their best known work. So many famous people are like this, my guess is it comes from being disconnected from ordinary people, and having to keep up a public persona.
