I just gotta say, having Omega on screen when "he walked in universes where the laws of physics were designed by a mad man". Because, of course, that is exactly what he was referencing. The Three Doctors was one of the best ever multi-Doctor episodes.

The strongest reason this speech is so impactful is because the sheer weight of the show's history is one of its legendary qualities. Since the audio dramas are also often accepted as canon so long as a Doctor actor portrays them, it is likely that every single thing he mentions here has a literal reference point in the lore. With the Pandorica, the universe DID freeze, to stone. At the end of the Time War, creations DID burn. The things seen that 'you wouldn't believe' are usually the show's greatest moments. Thus, while the speech sounds awesome, it's all based on actually told tales, nevermind the untold ones. The vastness of DW literally staggers, by this point.
@darthozlord2 жыл бұрын
Pretty much. The audio dramas were made canon with the Night of the Doctor, just before Eight Regenerates; he toasts and salutes all the companions he's known there, so yeah, that's a great point.

I really feel for the Doctor. I don't think anyone could really understand the entirety of that speech, of how he spoke of loss and love, pain and suffering, victory and defeat, as he recalled all of his lives and memories. He is an old man, who's suffered more than any one being over could have or should have. Around others he's happy and youthful, but when he's alone, he drops the facade. He leaves it all out there, and Matt did an incredible job with the emotion and time of the speech. Makes me cry everytime.

I absolutely love this edit, I really want this in the official episode because it makes the scene that much more powerful. The problem with writers these days is they want every season to be a full reset to get new viewers, they completely ignore the new fans that happily watch the entire 60 years worth of the show. Come on writers, Dr. Who doesn’t have fillers (at least not before the end of Capaldi’s run) like anime have where you have to follow a guide on which seasons are safe to skip!

In my personal opinion the last great doctor was Peter Capaldi in the last great head writer of Doctor Who was Steven Moffat. I don't hate Jodie Whittaker she is a very Talent actress she has done well in a lot of other stuff. But I just don't like her doctor. And I absolutely hate Chris chibnalls era. In my opinion I consider him as the man who killed Dr Who because he deliberately made William Hartnell not the first doctor and deliberately decided that the doctor wasn't born on Gallifrey which pissed me off. I was so happy when I heard Russell t Davis was returning meaning Chris chibnall was no longer the head writer and I think it should stay that way.
@carmillaatemycat6517 Жыл бұрын
I feel very sorry for Jodie, because I think she has proven to be a phenomenal actress in everything else I've seen her in, but she was really let down by Chibnall's writing. I can't stand the "Timeless Child" plot. Very excited that Russell is coming back. I hope that Jodie gets some quality stories from Big Finish, somewhere down the line, so we can see her shine as the Doctor, with competent writing.
