This episode of LOTR: Rings of Power REALLY showed what we have coming in the future! Galadriel somehow managed to act even more horribly to people. The harfoots showed their true colours of being absolutely evil to even people in their own town! And Arondir achieved....nothing? How did his friends even get there? Oh what an episode, what did you think of it or what you saw in the review? Let me know your thoughts below and as always, thanks for watching :)

What an odd choice for Galadriel when they could have easily kept her gracious and more-informed-than-everyone character, made her the “Gandalf” of the series, building alliances, putting quests together, solving mysteries, etc. She could have been everything a person could want in a female role model. I love how they turned the charming hobbits of LOTR and The Hobbit into a wild tribe of heartless savages who abandoned their own kind to die in the wilderness if they are too sick or elderly to keep up. I love when the chief says "We carry those left behind in our hearts." Why not carry them in your carts? Who's running this migration? Galadriel? Another thing how are they able to avoid detection pulling carts along paths? Their attempt at camouflage isn't going to stop people noticing moving hills and all the noise. And besides people would be stumbling across the bodies of harfoots all the time left behind to die.

Might I add, the literal only thing more obvious than cart tracks would be a solid road leading to their locations! Cart tracks are what formed most of our roads today through repeated use, and if these ‘harfoots’ have a repeated cycle of migration that allows them to tend to plants and fields depending on the season, then they would develop cart-roads similar to what early human civilization did.

I have this odd head-canon. When you consider: 1) There is an entire storyline about orcs moving in and taking over peaceful lands in order to found Mordor. A high point for orcs. 2) The men of said lands, nomadic wandering men, and the men on the raft are all portrayed as nasty, hateful, and antagonistic from the viewer's perspective. 3) None of the characters are likable and the viewer finds themself routing against every character regardless of race, gender, age, location etc. 4) Not-Gandalf is portrayed as a schizophrenic mental patient. 5) All characters have trouble expressing any emotion and barely even face each other when communicating, even characters who are allegedly romantically involved. Almost like the series is incapable of portraying emotion or complex thought but is mimicking what it perceives as such. 6) No appreciation of art as wardrobes and armor of characters is plain, boring, and forgettable. While orcs are more heavily focused on and humanized with blue eyes, female orcs, and more detailed costumes and features. 7) The story is barely explained and there is little to no explanation of history or the lore of the universe in which the series is set. As if there is no knowledge/memory of it. 8) Every storyline is about impending darkness, vengeance, or poisoning of land. There is no element of creation anywhere in the series. - It will never be addressed, but I have a sneaking suspicion that this series is actually written from the understanding and point of view of a random orc living in the second age.

Tolkien literally makes it a big deal that these tall behemoths were much stronger than average men, and lesser groups of men worshipped early Numenorean sailors as gods. They were also very physically strong that they shot arrows using bows and arrows made entirely out of steel. A few of these dudes using a shield wall can hold back tides of orcs half their size. However, orcs were dangerous for their numbers and ferocity. Also, sunlight only physically weakens orcs, it didn't burn them like you see in this show. They're not vampires.

If the only way to make RoP endurable is to laugh at it, then you're my go-to comedian on the subject!

Just small correction, don't let the show fool you, the island were not given because of the elves. Eru created it and granted the Numenorians long mortal life as they wished, they are elven descendants. The envy for immortal elven life and Numenorian corruption happened much later when Sauron got taken as hostage.
@matiasluukkanen77182 жыл бұрын
True, but Numenor was created by Valar and Maiar. Osse raised it from seabed. Aule anchored it. Yavanna made it fertile. Eru only interferes if Valar plead to him directly because Valar themselves don't have jurisdiction to proceed, like when men attack Valinor.

I'll go on record and say large correction, literally not one thing in this show is what Tolkien wrote. They just needed his name and a VERY loose framework so that they could "improve" upon what that stone-age traditionally istaphobe colonizer created, with a super dumbed down collection of scenes that plays up the identity politics crowd while perverting his story in every way possible. They are telling the story now, they know what is best, and what is best is killing the past while speaking YOUR truth. NOT THE truth. The people responsible for this abomination couldn't create something that would hold up on it's own using the same tactics and ideas. Nobody would watch it, that's why they need an IP with the largest built-in fan base possible. But anyone who has read The Silmarillion knows none of this show happened its FUGAZI. Just bogus propaganda disguised as fan fiction in the laziest and most insulting way possible.

I think it was Ossë who raised the island out of the sea as a gift to the men who helped in war of wrath.

@@Faavtro They had the full right for Robert Jorden's "wheel of time" and still changed almost everything so it is not about lacking of source material or rights. It is their style to "improve" authors work.
@petriew20182 жыл бұрын
the actual truth is the island was created and gifted to the men who stood with the Elves against Morgoth (which is never mentioned in Galadriel's exposition dump), who, fun fact, literally saved the collective ass of the Noldor because it was a human mariner who managed to sail to Valinor and plead their case to the very gods themselves So yeah, the humans earned that island through blood and courage

Why didn’t the Orcs dig a REAL tunnel, totally underground, instead of exposing themselves to sunlight and the Elves who are on watch in the South LOOKING FOR EXACTLY THIS KIND OF PROBLEM?
@marcogenovesi85702 жыл бұрын
digging a real tunnel is kind of hard even when the soil cooperates (i.e. it's firm enough), doing a trench is faster and safer. Yes I'm sure the show runner didn't think/know about this and they just wrote it because PLOT demanded it, but there are ways it can be explained.

I was mostly laughing at the roof covering the whole way down the serpentine trench . , one fire and the whole thing goes up .
@dh5102 жыл бұрын
Why do the orcs even bother digging to move? Couldn't they just march at night and make camp when the sun is out? If they are trying to dig something out, digging a straight trench isn't gonna help much..

It'd be ironic if the hobbit community was formed by all the harfoots that got left behind. "It was a dark day in hobbit history when we were nomadic. We were a selfish lot and didn't look after each other. Then we settled down and became a civilized community, harfoots no longer."

The Harfoots which were left behind by their disgusting tribe mixed with the Stoors and Fallohides and became the Hobbits we love from Peter Jackson movies. They build clean houses and discovered how to wash themselves. xD

Galadriel is not just ‘a couple thousand years’ old, she’s over 23.000 years old according to Tolkiens last notes. Even if we disregard those notes and go by his original draft, she’s well over 5000 years old during the time of the show

This just reinforces that they spent most of the money on cgi and a money laundering scheme and when it came to hiring writers and directors they just yelled woke nonsense and pointed at the turning heads.

It was founded by Elrond's brother, Elros, who chose to be human because they were half Elves. So yes, you're correct.
@harbl992 жыл бұрын
Imagine a distant cousin of your entire nation's founder washes up on your shores. A name of legend, who has seen more than all your histories record. Someone who lived among the Valar themselves. And she acts like this. The Numenots must be soooooo disappointed.
@chriss32762 жыл бұрын
@@debanydoombringer1385 Actually if you want to be nit picky, Elros & Elrond really weren't half Elves. They were only 3/8 Elves, 1/2 man, and 1/8 Maia! BTW other men besides Elros were among the first Numenorians, he was simply the first King. It wasn't really founded, it was settled by the various men (and women) who were recipients of the gift.

@@desmondrhea6942 I didn't even read the books that speak of Numanor. I was just interested in learning more about the history behind lord of the rings by watching videos and looking things up on google. I don't admit to knowing everything about it, but I still have a better understanding than the writers of this show. I wouldn't take a job working on this show without having read all the relevant writhing. Now that I think about it, I will get the audio books.

Gotta love that in the trailers, there was that awful line about the Filth Hobbits and how what they do better than anyone else in Middle-Earth is stick together and look out for one another, “…with hearts even bigger than our feet…”- and the idiot who said that is being left behind by the rest of their tribe. Brilliant. Edit: I’ve really got to start watching the whole video before commenting 😆
