Is a pitty that this recent moves are going to damage Canelo's legacy for many people, but what does he expect? Also, how much till Canelo retires? I don't think there are many years left due to how active he has been all this time.

From everything I've read it came down to PBC not having the funds since they won't have Amazon's budget like they did with Showtime. PBC is responsible for producing the events and amazon is just the streaming platform. With that being said, i hope DAZN and maybe the Saudi's can get involved and make the fight happen.

BENAVIDEZ didn't exercise his mandatory position to force a purse bid or force the titles to be stripped, instead he moved up. He was eligible to do that this month in Month and he didnt, why not?

Apparently so! But the wbc already have sanctioned the other fight at 175lbs so who knows what will happen. Plus the WBC are very selective on who they give mandatories too.

@@BoxingLife true but it’s not like the Benavidez actually petitioned for it. They never pushed for it or even went legal to get the fight. Some type of effort. The only effort I saw were interviews and those all were proven to be lies by their team. Oh well

I think that the PBC owes Canelo money for his last fight against Charlo, I believe that there is a breach of contract by the PBC, that is why Canelo was able to leave the PBC.

Davids status as mandatory only goes into effect this march a yr on from beating caleb plant... if his team truly wanted it they would petition the wbc to enforce this status at that time. Instead hes chosen to fight a 37 yr old retiree in gvozdyk coming off the back of a 36 no hoper in andrade and canelos knockout leftovers. People seem to forget caleb and david were both champions for years before canelo was even in 168 both under the pbc umbrella and they didnt make that fight. I want to see canelo vs benevidez as much as everyone else but if david rly wants the fight, fighting canelo on dazn should be no problem. Unless of course the stringent drug testing they have over at matchroom would be an issue for someone with memo heredia on their team...

You should be disappointed in the PBC for not being able to fulfill their end of their contractual obligations it has nothing to do with canelo it has to do the PBC being completely broke unable to afford the costs of the upcoming events that they had planned and have to set up and also are unable to pay him the guaranteed 35 million that was agreed upon its clearly in black and white in the contract he signed as much as I really wanna see David vs canelo there’s absolutely no one in their right mind that would forget about 35 million dollars to fight for free so why would he do that it makes no sense

I don’t agree Matt. There is a reason we have rankings. If fighters are allowed to do what they want all the time we wouldnt get a lot of fights. Give up the belt if you don’t want the fight! Or the sanctioning bodies need to do a job. (They usually do a bad job anyway in this regard in a lot cases like this)
