If there's one thing I've seen from fans-turned-Vtubers, it's that "Don't get into this industry to be close to your oshi" is advice I see given _very_ often. Whether it be the awkwardness that comes from "meeting your heroes" or just the fact that work will get in the way, almost all of them agree that "it won't work out like you hope".

So Niji just has to endure until they can safely close the branch with a "well, it wasn't profitable anymore, sorry" when people will have enough of the talents's dramas. Because the problems/dramas always roots in whatever the hell the english talent does/did and not in the agency itself.

Tbf tho, depending on the agency, you could at least do a few off-collabs and stream collabs to get closer (except for the first month after your debut, perhaps), and you might not always have overlapping schedules (mainly if the agency doesn't want people needing to choose between which person to watch within the same agency, especially if the two are in the same generation or even the same branch). That said, you still can't hangout _all_ the time because of the amount of work you'd have to do like Rin said (heck, more so in the larger agencies with dance lessons and voice trainings depending on your specialization or if there's an upcoming concert or something), but I feel like it wouldn't be impossible for you to at least become [business] friends with said oshi Take this with a grain of salt tho since I've never been a corpo VTuber. And yes, don't just join an agency to get close to your oshi. Being able to do that should just be a bonus; otherwise, you'd just get burnt out or something...
