Really cool that you decided to do a video like this. I realize my opinion is just a data point, but these are my thoughts: - I would much prefer as little protection as possible. Cleaning ability, slickness/lubrication, and lack of streaking are my top characteristics for a rinseless wash. If I want to add protection, I would rather do it myself. In answer to your question, my top rinseless washes right now are ADS Hero, DIY Rinseless, and OP Eco Wash. All have a fantastic balance of those characteristics, imo. - If you’re up for R&D on a rinseless sponge, that would super cool. Much prefer a sponge to a microfiber mitt/cloth. - Hot take, and I know I’m in the minority here, but I’m a bit tired of detailing products that smell like food. I’d do a cartwheel for a rinseless that smells like sandalwood, cedar, and vetiver. Thanks for letting us chime in on the process! Really looking forward to the finished product.

Appreciate you taking the time to share your input, this is all crucially beneficial for us to make our products better. This feedback is directly put into the products we make! Regarding a sponge, what are your favorites currently? Me personally, I tend to lean towards microfiber even for rinseless but we are also working on a foam sponge to release in addition.

@@ethoscarcare Thanks for responding! In answer to your question about my preferences for a sponge, DIY’s legacy sponge takes the top spot easily. It has the perfect type of foam, and I like the form factor as well. That said, I wish it weren’t two pieces glued together; if Ethos were to make a sponge with that same type of foam in one piece (maybe even make it bright green or purple), that would handily usurp the legacy sponge’s throne.

Best of both worlds - surfactant and polymer. The ability for it to dry in the sun when you can’t quite dry in time, but still be able to wipe off. No protection. I have Resist for that :-) Currently using Abolute, DIY, and experimenting with Hero. Love the peach idea. Nothing on the market like that. Happy to test if you want honest input.

Slickness , cleaning power and shine . To me those are biggest things . I love DIY for the cleaning power but man I love the shine Hero leaves behind . The first time I tried it I couldn’t believe it, I really was blown away . Also huge thing with Hero is Amplify ! You can use with the product and it reallllly adds to the satisfaction to the experience . Personally I think Ethos Resists is the best Ceramic sealant I’ve ever used . I’m very excited about the rinseless that you’re coming out with .

I have been using your product line since 2020 and have the Graphene Matrix Coating on a Silver car that’s gets a gloss-up with Resist every 3 months. Have been using DIY, ADS, Phoenix EOD Hydra, P&S Absolute, and ONR. The cleaning ability of Hydra and DIY are awesome. ADS is growing on me!! After using D3fy as a waterless wash for several years, I’m sure this Rinseless Wash product will be just as effective.

Ethos always makes very well balanced products and Defy is still in my arsenal. For rinseless wash I use DIY rinseless because it cleans exceptionally well. I do not want a rinseless wash product which causes the concrete floor to become slippery and cause slip issues.

Sounds great, would love to try it when it comes out. My current go to's are DIY, Absolute, ONR in that order. I just got a bottle of KCx RRW. I like it too, but I much prefer no protection left behind, I like to add that with a drying aid. My priority is cleaning power, slickness, lack of streaks, in that order. And yes, sponge is my go to method, much more efficient than mits or towels. With a proper pre spray of solution, a sponge works fantastic..

My current goto rinseless is DIY Detail. I love the water behavior on the paint when using a sponge, and it cleans well and smells great. Lately I've been enjoying Hero, too. It's got a different water behavior on the paint with a sponge because of the silicon backbone, which threw me off at first, but once I put a drying towel to the surface, I was blown away by how clean it left the surface with not any effort, and also left the windows crystal clear. So right now those are my two favorites.

Iv used DIY, Hero, Absolute, Hydra. DIY is my favorite but I trust it to use it as suggested, interior pccasionally and in my polishing system. Could be slicker, my opinion is like you Tim. I dont judge it based only on slickness. I use Absolute too, same issues everyone has, just not the best consistency and the separation. Iv been using rinseless more at work on Engines, do the hybrid foam and rinse, then pull it inside for a rinseless to combat the heat and spotting. So being sun friendly is important to me. I'll gladly test your rinseless. Applied your new wax you sent me last week to a truck at work, easy as pie. Its going to be abused so should be a good real world test.

I am ready to see what its going to be about as I love Resist. I haven't used ADS Hero or DIY yet, but I have used Uber Si02 and Feynlab v2 and 3. Uber is UBER slick under the drying towel, but my issue with it is I do not feel like it breaks down dirt well. Feynlab v2 was mop water...... hated it lol. v3 cleans amazingly well, but my issue with it is if just using v3, it is grabby as hell under the drying towel. My solution is I use the FLv3 and uber Si02 together. I put 10ml per gallon of FL and add about 5ml of uber to it. This gives me the cleaning ability I like with FLv3 but the slickness when drying of Uber. I love Uber also because I can use it as a quick detailer. It is cheap if used for that compared to buying one. I wish places sold samples of rinseless washes.... I want to try some others, but don't want to have a bunch left if I don't like it. I am willing to try a sample if you me to. I wash my wife's Acadia and my Titan 2 times weekly using rinseless.

Another Rinseless wash I’m going to have to try. I have so many now, I can start a business off them. Wolf gang Uber works the best in my application. Direct sun in Fl. High 80’s to low 90’s. Black paint. Wipes off really clean. I’d say Hero takes 2nd. ONR V5 in 3rd. DIY and Koch are a close one. Both dry quick than I’d like. DIY was hard to wipe off when the polymer spots dried. Which was disappointing.

It sounds like your heading in the right direction as far as getting away from protection. Personally, I prefer to add extra protection as a drying aid or after the car is dry. My current favorite is McKees N-914 V2, it's an amazing product that leaves my car looking brand new. I'm currently doing a rinseless wash with flip towels for the windows , gold sponge for paint and then the very bottom portions of the car with a microfiber pad.

While I personally prefer no protection in my rinseless(DIY Detail here), I think having a decently stout protection that eliminates the explicit need for an LSP is under utilized in the rinseless segment. For the people that just want results with as little product as possible, it's not a bad idea.

When I do rinseless which is very rare, my current go to is Wolfgang SIO2, and I saw that DIY Detail made one that had foaming properties. My initial thought was what kind of sorcery is this? Well, I bought it. 🤫 It does foam, I’m not sure how, or why, but it Foams. Did seem to add slickness during the wash. Anyway, sounds like this rinseless will be similar to the Wolfgang SIO2, which wouldn’t be a bad thing from what I’ve noticed. Cannot wait to see that new version of interior detailer by the way,

Dear Sir, as I only use Rinceless wash and I don't care about the topper. I don't have access to a hose! Apartment dwelling. I need a Rinceless wash to clean all the deep grime off my car. I have several products that I can use to top it with. Tree sap, road grime, water spots and the bird crap. Then the Brake dust. Off of a Mercedes!🤦 I really don't care about smell like some do. I've used Low nap 350 gsm and a 1200 gsm drying towel. And a nice 500 gsm fluff for the topper. If I need a topper. Your company has plenty. I don't really use a topper to see what my protection is doing. And I do like a foam. In my humble opinion. As a rinceless wash. I pre spray and then use a sponge or low nap to wash with. Good luck with your product!

Hey Katrina, i understand the fear in rinseless/waterless washing, but rest assured these are both extremely effective and safe to perform. Our rinseless in development focues more on concentrations so that it will dilute down to a RTU solution in the bucket that will clean without scratching due to our additions of lubrication and surfactant ingredients Defy doesnt contain. Defy will lean more on the protection side with rinseless leaning more on the cleaning side.

Have a full bottle of their latest in my cabinet that I rarely use, not even sure why haha, but I have always wondered if you guys would ever put one out. Defy is the bottle I always go to for this task currently , but it's a pricey product to use up when I usually still top with something else after.
