anyone reading this.. you shouldnt use the sides of the sponge. The whole reason why these sponges are safe, is because of the cut out slots which are designed to trap the dirt and contamination and not drag it along your paint. The sides do not have these slots. If you have a gen 1 sponge, keep using it, and don't use the side of either and you're all good.

Why do you like the McKee's better? I just used it for the first time and like it, but was struggling with keeping track of what side I just used when I needed to flip to the other side for a second pass through, which I see the benefit of the two color system of the DIY would bring. Don't like the comments on the sharp center material of the DIY though.

Very interesting Mike. Seems there is a lot of crossover in the industry, and behind the scenes collaboration. Yea, you can’t call it white labeling specifically, but the technology is being shared. Isn’t Detail Co using buff and shine, for pads, and their sponge? “Open cell technology” So, the middle of the sponge seems to help the sponge keep its structure. The ultra safe sponge works fine, but to me it’s small, and too soft. Hoping Eddie’s sponge is a winner. I think I’ll get it by next month.

I'm going to pick one of these up once they come back in stock. I already ordered the Detail Co one, may retire the old BRS (from 2018) and my original UBS (from 2020). They're still good, but I've always wanted to try washing wheels with them during the winter when I'm using more of a rinseless process for wheels. I know you said you're done with rinseless testing for the year, but are you going to check out Nemesis and Clean Rinse-Less? They both sound intriguing, so I picked them up. And since I'm a glutton for punishment I finally grabbed Feynlab V3 and also rebought Hydra V3 direct from Aaron. I had picked up a small bottle off Amazon, but not sure which version that is. With that, I think I've officially reached my limit for new products for the year. It's time to do some serious washing and blow through some product. I finally broke down and grabbed a dozen of the dispensing bottles and moved my gallons to some totes to free up space and make my cabinet a little cleaner looking.

I really enjoy the Feynlab v3. Almost has a Christmas scent to me, can't wait to use it during the holidays to really set the vibe in the garage. I used it at 1oz per 3 gallons, per recommendation and it worked great. Looking forward to your thoughts!

@@jeffc6832 I’m thinking Nemesis, and Clean rinseless are going to be in the HERO/DIY category. Feynlab v3 is a solid product, I have no issues when using it. That great smell lingers. New Hydra though, just a different animal. If I could describe it in one word, it would be “pure”. It’s just so easy to work with, and it murders dirt. Dry off is effortless. First product I’ve used that melts bird sheet. It leaves nothing behind, just a super clean surface. I’ve tried most of them, and have a full shelf of just rinseless products. I find myself going back to RRW, Hydra, and surprisingly, ECH2O the most. I ordered Nemesis, and the sponge because Eddie got me hooked on rinseless, and that hybrid wash. Not shilling a product, but a process. Respect. Mike here may be the only truly independent reviewer left soon though, I hope he keeps it going.
