I loved seeing death as the colonial maiden looking so soft and tender, almost as if she was sad to have to take the life in question. Then, as her modern day self she looked twisted and dark, as if to shapeshift and reflect the emotional association of her subject (Agatha) in her appearance. I really loved that contrast.

As a Latina, I am absolutely thrilled that Aubrey Plaza got to be Rio and Death. The way her face lights up, and she's wearing the shroud, and her face is a skull is awesome. It reminds me so much of Santa Muerte!! I know to a lot of people this might just be a superhero villain show, but it's really awesome when they include little things like that. Thanks, Marvel. :D

Look how soft and calm she was before losing Agatha.But now she is twisted and mad.This was reflected in her makeup, clothing and looks.

I tip my hat to Aubrey for her portrayal of Death here. When Episodes 8 & 9 landed, we finally got the context to explain why she was being such a snarky, bitter bitch. She's a woman scorned! Her love for Agatha & Nicky festered in the aftermath of Agatha's anger at his death, despite Agatha knowing Rio had no choice. It's quite literally her reason for existing. The way centuries of anger, frustration & unrequited love melted away as soon as she realised what Agatha was doing, then culminating with that single tear, is both beautiful and heartbreaking.

@@hardcandy9880Agatha aquired Darkhold which was a powerful magical demonic book that allowed her to be undetected by Death for centuries. Death found her under Wanda's spell after Wanda perished with all Darkhold copies

She’s the best casting tbf just by seeing her over the years, calling herself a witch, wanting to kill everyone, the role was made for this alien that became famous and can’t leave
