I didnt realize they limited the amount of lobster you could get until I watched this. That pretty crappy. If you are going to charge me an extra $20 a person you better give me more than a single lobster tail especially since you can getting pretty much everything else on that side of the buffet on the regular side.

WELL Land---- you have heard how so many people over do it with the lobster eating -- I know it is buffet but PLEASE be sensible.. if everyone gobbled up tons of lobster -- there would not be any left for the rest.. I am sorry to say-- that I find these people that overdo in one item ((like lob)) are acting piggish. There are so many other good seafood to have as well.. BUT!!! some just want to gouge the item cause its ''all U can eat''..and it is something they could not afford $$$$$$$ to get like say Red Lobster price.....

It is OK to limit the amount of lobsters. But he said you only got one ticket per meal. You can choose either a whole lobster (which looks very small, under 1 lbs.kind, must be imported from Canada because you can only catch 1.25 lbs lobster in US) or five small pieces.

It is really pricey but if i want Lobster, i go to the Sterling Buffet. Sooooooooo good. I went on my birthday and never thought i would spend so much but it was so good. And you can have all the lobster you want. Good size tails too :-)

We ate at the Sterling Brunch last year in April and will be doing it again this year. I know it is expensive but the food was incredible. Didn't have to take a lobster ticket and the momoso's were incredible and kept coming.. This buffet looks crummy compared to it.

Hi Derrick!! While you were reviewing this, I was in Vegas eating seafood at an alternative buffet!! I wish that I'd had the benefit of this particular review. However...I did follow another of your entertaining recommendations and for the most part-, I ate so many crab legs that I thought I'd grow pinchers!! Also got to enjoy mussels, clams,scallops...but wowee!! Were they ever salty! However, a great buffet in Vegas was on my "Bucket list", as was a trip to the Grand Canyon! I totally blew my "low carb diet"---but not at the buffets!! You had so many recommendations that were so much fun, (just as you are), and this little trip was a blast!! What a fine city you live in! But, it's nice to be home in Vancouver, Canada!! I guess each of us love our own city and country! Thanks for the pleasure you have given to me through your entertaining reviews!! Everything about the Rio has gone downhill since Harrah's/Caesars bought it years ago. They need to sell it to someone that cares about restoring it. They only keep it because world Series of poker. It used to be a fun vibrant place with a lot of energy. It's really sad how bad they let it go.

Another great video Derek indeed! Wow , that was a lot of food -you go man! I enjoyed my PB&J a lot more while watching LOL. Looks like a great buffet at that price, however, I will forgo the extra 20 dollars for the seafood side. Those deserts look phenomenal! I stayed at the Rio in another life when an internet friend I made was working there. I've been to the Buffet for breakfast and the food was wonderful. The rooms were really nice and the stay was very enjoyable. I would love to go back and try the buffet again.

Sub'd and liked, really enjoyed your enthusiasm and comprehensive tour. The last time I was there was in 2000 and it was around $35. If I remember right they gave you a number and the current number was digitally displayed and announced throughout the casino in case you wanted to play while you waited. On the weekends the line could get quite long. My favorite dish was the clams in black bean sauce. It was a take on the Chinese version offered in most authentic restaurants found in major city Chinatowns. Always a glutton for the AYCE crab legs and cocktail shrimp as well. Keep up the great videos.

apparently this is one of the more expensive and better buffets in general and pretty large... you would think that they would have a couple of full time people keeping the food service area clean at all times... to give them some benefit of the doubt, they may have just had a crowd there and these places can get messy very quickly and they simply have not gotten to it yet... every mom knows what I mean... at noon the house looks great... by 3pm, you are like "how did this happen?" Have not been to this buffet in years...but back in the day (like 10+ years ago), this was the place to grub. People would stand in line for hours. Looking at it now (don't know the price), the food looks decent, but not overwhelmingly awesome. If you're in Vegas...try the 24-hour buffet run. Within five properties, you can have as many buffets as you want...within a 24-hour period. Cost is about $60...but worth it. And believe me..by the time you hit buffet No. 3, you'll be asking for a salad. :-)

There is also a BBQ's in The Junction now too and an Applebee's. Coney Island is completely changed! And if you used to go to the West 5th summer concerts, they are gone! The Jonah crab claws run about $30 an order for 4 or 5 claws at most seafood restaurants, so if you get those you've almost paid for the buffet. Hint for Derrick: clams, crab, lobster, muscles should be dipped in melted butter for best flavor. Cold crab legs are the standard - not hot - on the East coast and in Hawaii. This buffet at Rio really appears to be one of the best. Too bad the hotel is far enough from the strip to require driving, cab, or a really long walk crossing over the interstate. I'm going to dine here instead of Bellagio, which has quite obviously gone down the crapper.

Exactly, I made a comment earlier outlining the most expensive (per/#) items. We have a fresh seafood market in Chicago and Stone crab claws run around $22-25/lb. Mussels and clams are also very expensive. If you ever see Sea Scallops, which are large and usually served seared in olive oil as an app at most high end chophouses, as opposed to the smaller bay scallops, load up on em. They will run ya about $20/lb as well at fresh Seafood Markets here. I realize that the cleanliness and appearance leave a lot to be desired but you should be able to eat $150-$200 worth of seafood market price.

Hi all you can vegas! I have a suggestion. Is there any way you can do more videos on off strip casinos? Like gold coast dinner buffet, Aliante buffet etc? Maybe some of the lesser known casino buffets? It would be great to see what other places have to offer. Your reviews are pretty great.
