One of the most haunting lonely tunes you will ever hear. Beautiful in its composition and expression. I have John Wayne movies on DVD. This music touches a place of serenity. Thanks for posting. Never get tired of hearing it.

I come back to this from time to time. My grandpa and I use to watch this movie all the time. I call him the Mexican John Wayne. A real hard ass son of a bitch when it comes time to work, but also the sweetest old man alive. Im going to have a hard time when he passes. Hes getting up there in age

I just wish this nation still had that spirit of the West, that knowledge of right and wrong, that willingness to fight the good fight. Thanks for posting this. As for Rio Lobo, the more I see it, the more I appreciate its ethos, its humor, and values.

Tedesco also performed for film soundtracks such as The French Connection, The Godfather, Jaws, The Deer Hunter, Field of Dreams, Gloria plus several Elvis Presley films. He was also the guitarist for the Original Roxy cast of The Rocky Horror Show. Additionally, he performed the opening guitar solo for the Howard Hawks and John Wayne film Rio Lobo.

@teller12111 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Never has one piece of simple music help an average movie this much. The music combined with the transition of the movie from the post war south quickly to an area of TX, presumably near Mexico, was well done. Wayne, Elam - good (French never had a chance). The rest were an effort, imo, to escape the pain of the obvious fact that this was yet another play on Rio Bravo ('59). El Dorado ('67) pulled it off, but three times? That's why I think they pulled in new faces in starring roles.
@MrSwiftmick2 жыл бұрын
Never mind your opinion. The movie is now a classic and that is all that matters
@teller12902 жыл бұрын
@@MrSwiftmick it's a classic because it had John Wayne and it reflected America from another time - a time that I and many older people long for. Personally, I like the movie. I like the theme, Civil War opening plotline, love the character actresses, actors. Chicks are smoking and there's good humor in it. I'm just saying it's the least impressive of the Rio Bravo, El D, Rio L trilogy. There's no Dean Martin or Mitchum to bounce off Wayne in this movie like they had in Rio L or El D. Ironically, I usually find myself fighting against people calling this a bad movie when I believe it to be a good one, not against people calling it a great movie.

Funny how they don't let a pretty good heavy, in Victor French, develop. They give it all to "Blue Tom," and he really wasn't up to it. Three great looking women and Jack Elam, and this great lead-in save the Duke and Hawks from having a lemon here. I liked the Civil War lead in to the main plot.
