@ClintWilber3 жыл бұрын
@@henrymccue2922 it is if you want to win.
@henrymccue29223 жыл бұрын
@@ClintWilber no it really isn't. Real sword fighting is much more brutal, even with sabre (the most intense of the modern fencing sports) you aren't allowed to hit the legs, and the machine doesn't measure strength, just contact. If you lightly touch someone's mask it's just as much a point as if you ram into their arm. If you want to see real sword fighting, check out HEMA, those guys are insane with their commitment to accuracy
@shorts_daily32 жыл бұрын
i understand but i play the sport and its very stressful since the whole body is a hitbox so you really don't want to take chances
@FencingMessiah Жыл бұрын
The bottom of sabre is not target because it is based on horse back dueling in which it would be stupid to aim for the legs. Also getting hit with a weapon does hurt depending on how much force and speed you're putting into it even though precision might be more important. It's more important to be skillful than strong even in a real sword fight. Hema is based on broadswords while fencing is mostly based on rapiers which were thinner and more flexible. Just as deadly a sword but completely different techniques
