@@AmplefireI’ll try explaining it in a way that assumes you have 0 info on piglet whatsoever. Piglet was the ADC on the first skt world champ team. Eventually skt went with someone else, so piglet left and went to NA where he ended up on the team Dom was on. Again, this is early 2010s so this was peak western teams thinking “import korean = win” and since he was a world champ, it was even more of that. Then Dom played with him and he talks about him being a huge headache to play with. He wasn’t that good for starters, then on top of that Dom describes him as someone who was mentally checked out and was just collecting paychecks. He wouldn’t put in the work like his other teammates, he would make poor decisions in game on a regular basis, etc. Combine that with the fact those team liquid teams were very close to making worlds year after year and Dom basically got to the point where he just accepted the fact if they had someone who actually cared, they probably would have made worlds. If you want it in other terms, it’s like having a school project that you and 4 of your group members work hard on to try and get an A, but you get a B- because the fifth member of your group does the bare minimum. That’s why he hates piglet.

I think we should all realize that at this point in time not League as a Game is dead, but League is 100% dead and abandoned in the minds of everyone working on it. Feels like all they do is cut costs, drop more cashshop scams and continue everything that gets a quick buck and still lay off people in the end. Riot mentally abandoned League 2-3 years ago, even while putting in so much effort to the eSports scene. The only reason they do that is because publicity for that specific event is too big, which is why that is the only constant with high quality in a whole calender year. Riot Games also doesn't know how to do liveservice anymore. Riot Games as a company is currently searching for the next big boom, like they had with League back in 2009-2012. They try their Fighting Game, the MMO they even go into completely different fields with the making of a Series like Arcane (which is 100% a huge success), but in doing so they (at least the League Branch of the Company) lost it's touch with the community and are also just searching for the big profit boom. Look at how they balance the game, look at how they STILL continue to dish out champs year after year, even though no one wants any more new champs. I've been saying for YEARS that the game needs FEWER champions, more reworks to put everything at least into a comparable state. The weird changes they always introduce as big new features, like the Change of the amount of times you can ping etc. They can't listen to the community, they absolutely hate to do what the community tells them to do, they always have to put their own idea onto the things. What has become of the Devs that simply just entertained the ideas of the people who actually play the game instead of always trying to push their own agenda onto something.

Personally when I watch co-streams for any game not just league I’m still listening to the casters almost as much as the costreamer. Most people don’t want the costreamer to replace the caster, they want to feel like they’re watching the broadcast along with someone else. I think Riot doesn’t understand costreaming and this is probably gonna backfire. Also, I don’t understand how there isn’t any way to make it work. How expensive can it be to pay two casters and an observer to work form home and cast all the games, or even have one of the casters also observe like they do in some Dota matches. Surely there has to be some level of ressources put into it that is appropriate without just cutting it entirely. Feels more like Riot getting greedy at how much money they can save with costreaming and I don’t think it will work as good as they think.

Bro, you got a windows update pending.

I honestly think the worst part is the casters didnt have a studio, they casted mostly from their rooms... how much are you really saving?

When I saw people tune in more to streamer than official stream I know Riot would do this, why the fck do I have to rent whole arena, whole set up teams, whole equipment, bunch of contractors, make event campaign sales, just to be outnumber by some dudes set up by camera. People dont want to admit it, but would you do it yourself, truthfully ? " But you made 300 milion ? " Okay, so imagine you take 100 hours and money to set up and event for people to watch other dude with basically no set up, would you still do it ? I'm not taking side of Riot, but unless the community actually see how they see it, they just keep doing it and fan wonder why ? People said streamer have nice personality so they watch their stream, well now you can watch their stream with no Riot set up too to see how well their personality can carry the whole event.

Dom time to co-stream T1, give up.

Well, I guess it’s time for Dom to buy the exclusive English broadcast rights for the LPL from Riot for a tenner.

It's T1's fault 😏😏

Almost all of my favorite commentators started with LPL and to see Riot do this shit is extremely depressing. Maybe if they were more honest about the reasoning behind it I could forgive it cause at the end of the day they're a business, but maaaaaaaaan it feels like such a slap in the face to do this while putting on this fake positivity about it.

maybe the english lpl co-streamers should make their own broadcast lmao. like a union XD
@d0nner969 күн бұрын
Thats what they want, so they have to spend no money and would probably promote it to take the credit
@cakecheese45699 күн бұрын
I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s more of a political/foreign relations headache that Riot doesn’t feel like dealing with. Not that they shouldn’t just that they don’t have the drive to.

Thats tough but the writing was on the wall. They already hit LEC the same no? Didn't LCS also get hit too? The only one that somehow passes barely is the LCK. For now anyways, as long as the LCK brings in those numbers Riot ain't gonna destroy them. Damn though, you'd wouldn't expect the LPL to get hit though

What do you think of making an LPL broadcast that you host yourself? Wouldnt compete against yourself and might reduce overhead and audience split

i only think of they want to cut cost and the chinese LPL is enough for the viewers.
@Ibm1900010 күн бұрын
or the other part that maybe tencent wants an exclusive chinese broadcast and doesnt care others.

Riot games and riot platforms are 2 different companies, and the revenue you mentioned is incorrect. Revenue isn't profits. For all we know, they could be hemorrhaging money, which is in line with all these cuts to esports. Not supporting what they are doing by any means, but we don't have access to their financials because it's not a publicly traded company.
@ku0n-zo5uf9 күн бұрын
The way they said it it's the most disgusting thing here, because if you really wanted to bring streamers into this, you invite them to a call every important match and even to do some casting and analysis in game. And if they wanted to save costs, you move the English broadcast, changing casters to some other country with lower salaries

LPL was already dead since last year, they litterally introduced a caster WORSE then Froskurin… like the female caster they had in summer made me stop watching due to her extreme incompetence.
@ralaggung25009 күн бұрын
I do agree LPL casters are great and it's sad to see it go but who are we kidding with passion and love for the game? It's a company. Company doesn't care about passion, love for the game. They gave LPL a chance for few years and it's not bringing enough attention from English speaking audiences and viewership is not good enough. They just don't see a future where spending and investing money in LPL will ever be profitable even in the future and I see it the same way.

you cant expect an indie company that cant update their game client to possibly have the funds to support a full english broadcast to the most competitive pro league in the world. Where do expect the funds to come from???
