With the evidence we’ve been provided one of two things happened. Either. A) Joe Marsh is lying about matching Zeus’ offers from other teams. Or B) Zeus had no intention of resigning but misled management with a verbal agreement. The negotiation with T1 was strictly to increase HLE’s offer. B seems more likely than A since rest of the T1 roster seemly got what they wanted (varying lengths of contracts, right salaries, whatever) and there’s no way players like Keria weren’t getting huge contract offers. Either way someone’s lying, but we’ll never find out.

Instead of blaming Zeus, T1 fans should be calling out Faker who has ALWAYS been the highest paid player solely because of his legacy and a couple of clutch plays at Worlds for not even considering to restructure his $6M/yr contract so T1 could offer a fair contract to Zeus and keep the dynasty going. After all, one can easily speculate that Faker probably has an annual income of $10M-15M with his real estate investments and brand endorsements. Everyone knows that Faker is basically the de-facto CEO of T1, and if he wanted to keep ZOFGK together, he could easily have made it happen. But, he chose not to. In any other professional team sports, the highest paid GOATs were all willing to restructure their contracts and take pay cuts to keep a good team together and keep dynasty hopes alive chasing more championships. From the looks of it, both, T1 and the agent wanted to use some type of tactical persuasion to sway his decision and it is normal to do so, as long as it is to your client/player's best interest. However, why is Doran's contract signed before Zeus's? Yet, T1 was "informed" of a deadline AND after the deadline, they've supposedly finalized and signed the agreement. If it's to honor a verbal agreement with HLE, then why didn't the agent also honor the verbal agreement given to T1 from the beginning? This also means, Zeus and the agent still had a chance to hear out T1's final offer. Even Zeus himself stated in his post that this was unexpected and is still unsure on how he feels about it, as if he had no idea it's going to get to that. The agent himself stated that Zeus wants to be in T1, money was not of concern, and he wanted a longer period to play in that team. Which none of his demands were met. Sure, profit matters to the agency, but the client's satisfaction should matter the most.

If there are contradictions, lets consider motivations at this point. T1 just lost an integral piece of their immensely popular, kpopified roster. They're in damage control mode, and they're embarassed. On the other side, the agency already got what they wanted and are trying to stave off a rumored lawsuit. To avoid a phony lawsuit, you'd share detailed documentation as close to the absolute truth as possible to scare off a complainant. I think T1 is trying to avoid responsibility for a bad faith negotiation.
