Honestly I've seen a lot of people memeing that sentence but it's deeper than "just don't stop 4Head" imo. What I think he meant was: "whenever you feel like giving up think about what could happen if you dont".

Tell me about it bro, same problem here. I feel like this is very common at this age, and alot of people are feeling lost. But how can we solve it is the question. Inspirational videos and watching things i might be interested in, doesnt give enough motivation to actually start to do what I trully want. Those baby steps are missing
@MrMilchjunkie
@MrMilchjunkie 5 жыл бұрын
@@panagiotistsakiris5802 well, doing the baby steps is what you have to do yoursel fin the end. One of the big problems our generation has is that we see all of those People who already make "finished" stuff... and sometimes they are at the same age and younger than we are. That makes it very easy to forget that it actually takes a long time to get to this point, especially since we only see the success and never (or only very rarely) the failures, scrapped designs and similar things. Another thing we never get told is that it is "not too late to start", especially since this feeling is very easily felt if you do not know what to do or where to go. I strongly recommend watching the video "Interview with Fabien Mense" by Bobby Chiu if you feel like you are too old for getting into art :)

28 here. i've neglected my artistic skills and my interest in games my whole life because boomer parents made sure to convince me college and an office job would secure me a life. jokes on them, i live in a mid-economic crisis third world country and the major i chose+finished hasn't gotten me a single job for over a year. also, before that, i got a boot to my ass after 3 years of dedication to the last company i worked. i guess jokes on me, right. now with this coronavirus shit closing every business in my town i feel like this is the call i needed to sit my ass at home and do what ive been doing hidden in my bedroom when my parents werent looking: draw shit. except now imma draw shit for my life. i don't think ill have much of a life waiting for me if i don't do the only thing i can do with these dumb sausage fingers of mine. but it's damn sure gonna be hard as fuck to deconstruct the walls i built around that possibility for over a decade.

@@t.k.5088 Tell me about it. I'm 31 and just at the end of my second graduation, in my finals, after failling one semester, I've collected courage to pursue game design fully. I've been running away, trying different stuff, but we all know there's no other stuff. This is the stuff we want and we should dedicate to it even if it isn't profitable. We must make it work. It doesn't matter what people say or think about it. If you love it and work a lot, there's nothing stopping you, really.

Where the dude said saturation contrast the first time at 5:19 , that was actually value contrast you showed. Saturation is the "amount of pigment" so to speak, how strong the hue of the color comes through. Value is the "brightness/darkness" of a color. A better visual for saturation contrast would be to have grayish washed out orange boxes next to a fully saturated "neon" orange box.

5 years ago I dropped out of college multiple twice because I had no enthusiasm to finish the degree I started. (English degree), since then I've been working and trying to get my hands into learning game development and art.. but have had no success because I've always second guessed myself.. like saying "Is this really going to get me anywhere.." or "you dropped out of college for this? Good job." This would go on and on for years. Starting, making small progress, get unmotivated from not progressing enough, doubt myself. Loop. Well, today is 10/16/21. I am 26 years old. I've decided to start a degree for Game Development in 2022 Jan. While doing it, I will use my free time to create art so that I will be able to create what I want once I learn how to program my own games. Wish me luck. Will update.

Okay this is so great!! I'm an artist at the age of 21 and my long term goal is to be a concept artist in a games company even though in the country i'm living in (tunisia, north africa), there isn't much chance to do so. That means i have to work 3 times harder than anyone else with the same dream as I am. I watched this video in doubt but after doing so, I realised that this is a blessing from god to me because it gave me clarity i didn't have on stuff I didn't know even existed and by the time I finish the series I'm dead sure I will be on the way. THANK YOU !!!!!

This is absolutely amazing. I just recently came across this and I feel like it is my calling. I was having troubles trying to figure out what I want my occupation to be when I get out of school, and I've been stuck in the "math" field because I've been only looking at the professions that stereotypically pay more. However I also found during this time that I really want to go into Multimedia Artists and Animators, mostly because I have a talent for art and I like video games haha. But I have no idea where to start, and here I am being thankful about these videos and hopefully in the future I'll be working on the next big game. :)

@@Ljutslfer Hi there, never thought I'd find someone to be interested in this haha, honestly, COVID made me take a huge detour when it comes to my plans. That's all from me for now, take care friend :)

But I keep coming back to the art because it's what I really love, and I want to get better at it. That last part was the best thing they could've put in the video- not stopping even if you want to give up!! I have up on me long ago, lost my passion for drawing and I hate everything I draw - may it look way better than anything I could've imagined to draw years ago. I always wanted to design great things, make my own games, wrote so many stories and have characters filled with the love I had for designing that I still adore. I hope, getting "older and wiser" or whatever hahaha, that I might be able to do better, to get better and start to find my passion again...

Sonia here, from 홍익대 (Hongik University) in South Korea, one of the top schools here for Art and Design. This semester I was given a class (that I didn't ask for) outside of my knowledge base-- English for Games Graphics Design Majors. I reached out to some of the major professors before the semester started, and several responded by sending me their syllabi and course content (and interesting articles). Of course, I also did a lot of internet searching on my own so that I could get a basic understanding of (and appreciation for) GGD and teach in some context. (I am a 50-something year old woman whose gaming career started with Pong and ended with Ms. PacMan). I have found this series to be life-saving (OK, maybe not, but let's say class-saving!). SYWMG is basically my textbook! The subtitles are on-spot, so students with lower level listening abilities can read along. The graphics are helpful for visual learners (also, for teachers like me who need to connect the words to their concepts), and the length is perfect. I cannot thank you enough for creating these and putting them out there for me to find and use!
