Yup, no watermarks. Im not sure what you mean by compatible with Windows Movie Maker, this rips it to the formats you can see on the video. If you then want to convert to another format I recommend MediaCoder

I know some have complained about this software.. but I have tried a lot of DVD ripper software and this has truly been the first free one that actually works and the sound and pic quality is good I will give it 8.5 out of 10 only because I like super high quality and am not yet able to modify that part yet

This program worked great! I just used the cd mode to record, my end point is youtube and the recording was accepted by youtube. Thats all I needed ! Thanks Andy

DVD Fab allows you not only to rip DVD's to your computer, but it also removes any regional or right protection from the DVD as it's ripping. Then you can use VLC to play back the DVD's.

@blakeazimmerman-Just click on ok. I don't know how it does it, but the software makes adjustments internally so you can start ripping. Then just click on start encoding button.

In my opinion Magic dvd ripper is the best for ripping and backing up but this software is also one of the best free dvd rippers on the net and it does what its suppost to do.Good vid!!!

I think it is because the software would be looking for a CODEC that it cannot find. Playing it first with, say, MS Media Player will load up the CODEC, making it available to this free package. A better answer might be a memory-resident decoder such as DVD43.

Those are two different things. That's like saying setting your DVR or a VHS recorder to tape music videos off TV is wrong. Companies give their products to TV and radios with the knowledge that customers can use them however they'd like for their personal use. PERSONAL use. Distributing it online to people who haven't necessarily earned it is where the line gets crossed. At least, in my opinion.

@lightning111170 if ur getting a cyclical error or somthing... use anydvd.... by slysoft... you open it up and it runs in the bottom corner... it runs for like 5 seconds then you can use dvd shrink and it works again

Very good. Thanks. The only thing I could not do was in setting the OutPut folder to navigate to a folder of my choice. It just reads "mpeg output" The buttons say "OK / Browse / Cancel" but when I click "Browse" nothing happens! Can you explain to me, please?

If it says unable to read, open the dvd with windows media player or some other dvd player first then go back into the free dvd ripper and it should work. Worked for me :-)

The same thing happened to me. You have to make sure that the right file is selected in Index on the left. That should do it

@sitruc3000 true, i was just testing a bunch of random programs that do the same thing and noticed that that ripped one of the dvds nicely but didnt rip another at all and was giving errors. which program are you talking about? DVD Fab?

Make sure you have all codecs (Download K-Lite codec pack). Change format to MPEG4 and codec to "Divx" Hope this helps

i found i neet media converter it will not rip dvds but it will convert pretty much any format to any other format with special buttons for games system and if you save a web page with video (ex: youtube) on it it will copy the video to your computer in pretty much any format you can think of best of all the program is free search google for cocoon quick media converter it is the first link

I have a 37-minute DVD. I want to put it on KZbin. But I've tried several of the popular rippers (Leawo,ReplayConverter) and their demo versions seem to be a 1:1 conversion (real time). I have to use a paid computer at an "internet cafe" because this borrowed library computer won't accept this software. Even if Miracle DVD Ripper works for me to create a video file,what then?? KZbin is only 12 minutes long. How would I then put then 37 minutes up? Thanks.

If I use the 'Encode' option on iSofter DVD Audio Ripper, will it in any way affect the DVD's original video and/or sound? 'Cos I really wanna set the start time and finish time of the track I want to rip, but every time I type it into Google, they just say "Oh, you can rip Chapters individually and stuff!" Yes, but I wanna just set the start time ( For example, 00:01:05) and the finish time (00:06:07) myself......

hey man, thanks for this. Wanting though to also copy the menus ( have a tv series to burn so obviously want to be able to flick to an episode individually) By clickin on the longest index obviously it takes the entire dvd volume. I've worked out how to do show by show (have to attend to the burning process every 20 mins) but still cant work out how to get the entire index on..any clues?

you need to convert it to .mp4 when you rip it chose the output format as mpeg4 that should work fine. or you could try mediacoder. i am assuming you are useing a pc and because itunes is a apple program it only understands apple media.

I download this and it didn't open properly. I uninstalled then reinstalled and it still does not open correctly. It is like the features are over lapping and I cannot see all the buttons. Hard to explain, but this is best I can do

I don't think this program works with Windows Vista 64-bit. When I try to open the program, it shuts itself down. Worked great when I had Windows XP however.

I dont know about the Sony-thing. It's St. Elmo's Fire, and it doesn't say anything about Sony, but it says DOLBY DIGITAL and Columbia Pictures if that helps? I played it in Media Player, and now it's no problem to open it. But when I press ENCODING it says: "Cannot open AVI file. Check that the directory exits and that the file is not used by another program" Now, I HAVE closed all other programs, but I dont know what that directory-thing is. Can you help?

@lightning111170 dvd shrink only allows u to burn the dvd to iso or disk not to a file. Also it is outdated. they stoped updating it about 5 years ago now... i think... anyway it wont burn some newer movies, i use another program that takes seconds to get rid of the encryption and then use dvd shrink to burn... dvd shrink is awesome otherwise

This program doesn't work for me. It leaves 'streaking' horizontal marks when there's movement in the picture, ie when someone is walking. Looks terrible.

read the description. you might need to play it from a different app (windows media player, etc..) before it will be able to read the dvd

VLC player is the best just use a trail version of any of the 'dvd ripper's and find the correct audio and titles to copy. Sooooo much faster than any other program, mind you i am doing it from DVD to MP4 (MP3 audio) on a: 64 bit Quad Core 2.67GHz 4GB ram with 859/1254GB free to fill. Just thought I'd throw that in.

Um i'm having an issue with sound. First it was saying it couldn't load the DVD so I played in media and it loaded but gave me that Push/Pull error. Not sure what that means though. BUT then It gave me another error about the audio, like it wanted to create a buffer or something idk but I hit yes and when I went to play a preview of the dvd in the program, it gave me the same sound error and then looked like it was loading the video. Unfortunately it then crashed. Sooo IDK someone help please.
