The DVD you have was at Ronnie Scott’s which is primarily a Jazz Club with it being a small venue Jeff had to turn the sound down a little. The track we watched was at the Hollywood Bowl. I saw him last year at the Sheffield City Hall ( UK) when Johnny Depp made his very surprising appearance, no announcement , no Press it was amazing. I have been a Fan of Jeff’s since 1964 RIP Jeff Beck 🥲❤🥲

We would have gotten to him eventually. It's a shame we had to do it to honor his life.

@@hanierfamily Hi ,tis Graham ,yes i realised before my epic short list that you had already did a tribute to JB !Thank you very much for replying ! Just to comment on your music choices , they are great ! I was 16 at the year 1980 so it is quite refreshing for folk across the pond appreciating some of our tunes from way back ! Cheers for now !

We're going to lose lots more of our musical heroes from now on. Those musical superstars from the 60's and 70's are moving into their eighties now and they can drop off at any tick off the clock, sad, but all we can do is to continue to play their music that will live on.

To steal a phrase from Jamel aka Jamal - Keep great music alive.

Yeah. I play open mics and I like to cover songwriters upon their passing. But Jeff Beck, not yet. He was quite advanced

I can't think of anybody that has died recently that I haven't seen live. I saw Jeff Beck only a couple of times, unfortunately.

I wish more would react to Jeff Beck Group. I,read a story that when the band started, the kid singer experienced such stage fright that he turned his back to the audience. Rod Stewart’s first trip to America, and I believe his first appearance on an album.

The original version, released in 1966, featured Jimmy Page on rhythm, John Paul Jones in bass, Keith Moon on drums and Jeff on lead. I’d suggest reacting to Shapes of Things, both the Yardbirds original with Jeff on lead and the Jeff Beck Group cover with Rod Stewart on vox. Want something more recent? Look for any of his songs with Joss Stone, Imogene Heap or Beth Hart.

One badass git slinger! Rest in peace, JB. This clip is from a film where the Yardbirds play but Beck gets pissed at his amp and smashes stuff kzbin.info/www/bejne/oISteHikaat3r9U

Brilliant choice. There's a collaboration he does with Joss Stone ( I put a spell on you ) which I'm certain you both would absolutely love.

the song is usually a little slower than this. Drummer is a little too quick on the pace and forcing everyone else to keep up. And I believe you are thinking of Nik West, that isn't Nik West on bass here

Jeff kept improving , Page and Eric stopped.

Not one of his best songs or performances, not by a long shot. Popular with him and his audiences because it was the first song he wrote as a teenager..... my all time favorite guitarist since first hearing him in 1965❣️

We'll have to go through more of his catalog, then. Any suggestions?
