Onewolf101 it's a big deal. Watch the video again and take note of every time the ken gets a combo off of his opponent thinking he's going to be thrown. In S3 you don't need to guess wrong, you block low and react to high. If the ken grabs his offense is over, so you're happy to be grabbed and don't need to risk getting counter hit by trying to tech.

It’s pretty much over when a Ken player throws you in the corner with “any” combo. By the time, the opponent gets out of the corner he pretty much died, if he didn’t died in the corner. Check out that vid pretty much everyone died in the corner!

it is important because it was the center of his gameplan. what made ken dangerous was that throw loop in the corner. without it it is going be harder for him to get counter hits which because no one is going to mash or try to tech really unless they are near death since getting thrown ends pressure. all he will have is a reactable overhead meh normals to frame trap and play footsie with. now he may get changes besides that that lead to him being all right but ken was the character that depended on throw loops the most. if you want to know what happens when you remove that from a chracter with no compensation take a look at season 2 ryu. there are many reasons why he was bad but one of the biggest was the lack of threat from his throws meaning he could not get people to get hit by his frame traps to actually do his high damage. this left him with a bad pressure game bad mix up game and bad footsie game and ken may end up in the same spot season 3 if capcom is not careful.

The problem with capcom is that they don't always know how to nerf a character. In season 2 they nerfed nash, chun and ryu to death when they could've handled their nerfs much better. Now they made Ken's distance after throw ridiculously far, they could've just made his recovery frames more to kill throw loops - they took away the setups you got after throw too. No more guessing if the opponent's Ken would hit low, cross tatsu for 50/50, do an overhead, jump or anything else. It's just throw and back to neutral. It's sad because Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li are the most iconic characters for street fighter and Capcom just treated them harshly. Why would anyone be motivated to pick up Ken and Ryu over Akuma now except for the love of their character, their cons just out weight the pros far more.

DarkFeels Actually this "nerf" is actually a buff to Ken. Getting pushed away from the opponent after throw puts him in the perfect position to keep people in the corner. If they couldn't escape the corner before, now it's even harder cuz he can just react acordingly to keep you in the corner. He never needed to be close to you to keep pressure anyway.

Your right i can, I started looking at more meaty setups today and didn't realize how much he has changed since the earlier builds and to me that is the most frustrating thing when playing this game, you are constantly having to re-learn the entire game again build after build. I am a Character loyalist so I dont believe in picking top tier, I just enjoy playing who I like.

An-T o-Ny I know what you mean, I'm a Juri pkayer and I just enjoy playing her.I'm always trying to come up with new game plans with her and I don't have the desire to change mains.I played Cody in 4 but since he wasn't in this game I had to find a new main.I'm probably still gonna stick with Juri when Cody comes out.

Yeah no, I cant play SFV anymore this game has changed too much. If season 3 buffs Ken then I'll give it another go but at the moment he just sucks compared to the rest of the cast and his previous builds. I'd want to see him higher in the tier list but I highly doubt he will get any better. I'm so stoked for 30th anniversary cant wait for that.

0 u or use the fear of throw loops. I can’t tell you how many people I have seen wake up dp on me on the first corner knockdown in fear of the throw loop, funny thing is I never really use the loop, just having the fear of it in the opponents mind works as well lol
