Thank you, people have been overreacting and thinking it’s the end of Roblox when really I’m surprised this feature wasn’t removed back in 2018. The spam comments have always been around but have only now decided to get rid of them. They removed the game and badge comments in 2016-17 so before people say “Roblox is getting worse now” there has always been things getting removed it’s not a new thing.

My comment is quite literally talking about how Roblox messed up with this update because of their negligent moderation tactics; how Roblox doesn't care about spam anymore and so instead of moderating the comments properly, they shut it off. This isn't a "pro" comment statement in the slightest. This is more-so a remark on Roblox’s inconsistencies (aka laughing at their contradictory actions). I brought in the UGC reference to refer to how they don't moderate the catalog properly as well... and as per them recently making UGC public, it seems that they pick and choose what constitutes as a "hub of spam"- including how the UGC catalog will definitely be another major issue that Roblox will have to deal with in the near future. Exhibit A among many others, is the audio update. Due to them not moderating the audio catalog as it should be, they got hit with a lawsuit and had to remove public audio. If they improved on their moderation, employed different means and built upon their system, this wouldn’t have happened. These problems that appear to be sowed by the platform’s community somehow always boils down to/stems from Roblox simply not caring enough until it’s too late, and THAT’s what I was pointing out. I personally couldn’t care less about the comment feature itself. Maybe fully comprehend what I'm speaking of first before jumping to conclusions and insults.

Whenever I buy an accessory, I always check the comments just for some insight. Even though there's commonly spam & scams, Roblox could just delete every comment that is "/e free" or "/e claim" etc... As someone who has been playing since 2009, it really feels like Roblox is trying to remove every feature from the game. I understand why this happened, because Roblox let the comments devolve into nothing but spams and scams over many years. They created this problem, and then instead of coming up with an efficient long term solution, they nuked the feature entirely. It's the exact same thing they did to the forums and the free daily login tix.

i feel like the feature could be improved instead of completely removed. for example, it was still a useful feature for smaller model creators to get feedback and some less popular ugc comments sections have very interesting comments on them! it bummed me when the comments weren't readded to games, badges, etc when the bot plague was defeated. instead of roblox implementing better moderation to comments (ie banning the term "/e free" and other common spam phrases) they're just destroying the feature completely. user input is dwindling so heavily and it sucks

Honestly I'm not gonna overblow this or overreact, this is honestly a valid reason to remove them. Even back as far as 2013 the comments were mostly just spam and random nonsense. The spam far outweighed any good the comments had actually provided. It's gotten to the point where with all the spam and scams there really isn't a reason to keep it around anymore. It's sad but the community sorta has only themselves to blame for this one. Maybe if there wasn't so much spam they wouldn't have done this.

I thought it was long gone. I remember something happened to the comments around 10 years ago, and when they released these zebra colored hats like fedoras, hats, etc and one hat was called "zebra hat for ladies" or whatever and there was an outrage in the comments. Great times but when spam bots took over the fun disapeared quickly.

Comments had been spam for many years, so to be honest, its for the better that they got removed. I doubt roblox will do any method of feedback though, its an attempt to probably try and say they will try and do something, when they wont, which gives me an awful sense of deja vu, as they said similar for the Roblox Forums back in 2017, which also died a similar death as well, though moreso for toxicity and the incidents, which were likely straining moderator resources, and werent a good look for Roblox at the time either with all the news either.

Honestly I’m not sad to see this go, I’ve never seen feedback on hats EVER. I’m actually agreeing with the Roblox team on this, just this once. We might have won against the spam, but at what cost?

sometimes i went into the comments of hats and they weren't /e free. like at all. i didnt see one /e free thing and there were many recent comments talking about what people think the hat's based off of or silly references and people talking about how the hat is nice. for those times, i am actually quite sad to see it go

It was spammed with billy comments, and controversies on some cool new hat. I saw Dualpoint Intercative's Soviet Officer hat having Anti-Capitalists and Pro-Communists fighting in the Comments. It's great to see them go

Honestly i wanna see the resurgence of comments somehow, like how about a system similar to KZbin comments? Like UGC Creators allowed to block specific sentences/words from being commented. It's so sad to see this go away honestly, most comments i found were interesting besides the /e free BS

Aw... most people will think its a good thing since "no more bots and annoting children!" but remember all the ugc items from games,etc. How people would comment whole game dialogues under ugc's, and actually communicate with each other. For example people would comment the whole dialogue from the Interragation mission from from Detroit Become Human at the Led item... RIP comments.
