People who disrespect the fallen are to be shunned. The men who fought in WW1 didn’t always hate one another. They simply were fighting their country, and simply thought their enemy was found the same. They mostly respected one another. God rest their souls. May the men up high who keep watch eternally find peace one day

White friday was a battle between the austro-hungarian and italian military, both side fired shells at weakened packs of snow to try to bury each other. Soldier of Heaven is from the perspective of one of the soldiers who died during white Friday. He is frozen in time and immortal in the sense that those who find his body will find it perfectly preserved due to the cold of the mountain.

My great grandfather Emilio died because of the wounds of this battle, he left my great grandmother and my grandfather when he was only a 4 years old boy. Soldier of heaven touched me deeply, thank you Sabaton for keeping the memory alive🙏🏻

I’ve done a lot of reactions of SABATON they are a great bands. They are literally the only bands I react to the most. Especially, the history which just grab my attention to them. History was my favorite class in high school.

The Italian Front in WW1 was such an overlooked theater of the war. Millions of casualties among the Italians and Austro-Hungarians in freezing cold temperatures at insanely high altitudes. Not to mention the number of soldiers who died from avalanches. Both sides would try to bury the other in snow. They're still finding bodies of soldiers to this day.

People ask what or who is a Hero. A true hero? Yes, a hero is someone who goes above and beyond the call of duty and who with disregard for his own life, saves or attempts to save the lives of his comrades or achieves an extra ordinary event of valor. I tell you now that all those Men AND Women knowing they may never return, no matter how frightened they were, still took up a post and did their duty are forever hero's also. Give a salute to those Italian, Austro-Hungarian {Croation, Slovenian and Slovakian} and Serbian Soldiers who fought and died atop those mountains.

What happened was both sides got the idea to bury the other side in an avalanche by bombarding the weakened peaks. It worked; the problem was both sides had the idea, so both sides got buried. Over 2,000 soldiers and civilians were buried under all that snow and ice. Because it was such a massive avalanche, they're still buried up on that mountain. Edit: This is why I consider WWI to be deadlier than WWII. WWI was considered warfare evolution; it was the growing pains that led to modern warfare. When the war first broke out, we were still accustomed to the centuries old tradition of armies marching out onto the battlefield and having at it. The development of the machine gun did away with that because it could mow down entire platoons in seconds. Mortar fire and long range artillery made people not want to get out of the trenches. But officers kept sending troops to their deaths using the same failed tactics again and again because that was all they knew. As the war progressed, desperation to gain any ground at all grew. This led to the creation of a lot of modern warfare; tanks, planes, flame throwers, poison gas, etc. And as these creations were made, this only increased desperation to win the war at any cost. This led to desperate tactics; like causing avalanches.

Great reaction! 🤘 Powerful message chorus and guitar riffs in this song. Both sad and uplifting. Only Sabaton can do that! 😉 I've seen some disrespectful comments from some viewers (usually the same people) on Sabaton reactions (not only your reactions.) Thanks for your video! Sorry about comment you might have received that were not respectful. Some people have no life. I've been on lots of these Sabaton reaction videos posts. The only one where Sabaton fans got crabby was a reaction by two guys (can't remember who they were), where they started gabbing and laughing about another topic during Christmas Truce. One poster summed up fan reactions by saying that he "liked" the video to start, and then after the reactors were laughing during the video, he went back and unliked it due to the two reactors disrespecting the content and the band. Otherwise, it's so much fun to listen to reactors to Sabaton, even with the sad songs.

I wouldn't say WW1 was the first "big" war; in Europe we had the Thirty Years War, the Seven Years War, the War of the Spanish Succession, the War of Austrian Succession, the Napoleonic Wars, etc. WW1 was just one if the most recent one's. Still, a great reaction!
