RIPLEY CASTLE 4K HARROGATE DJI MINI 3 PRO DRONE

Ripley Castle dates back to the 14th Century and is a Grade I listed building located in Ripley, just 3 miles outside of Harrogate in North Yorkshire.
Sir Thomas Ingleby acquired the Ripley Castle Estate and it’s Medieval Manor House after marrying the heiress Edeline Thwenge in 1308/9.
Their eldest son, who was also named Thomas (1310-1369), saved the king from being gored by a wild boar. This was whilst on a hunting expedition and was rewarded by being knighted in return and you may notice the boar's head symbol as his crest.
As you can imagine Ripley Castle is rich in history and worth reading up on.
Amazingly The Ripley Castle Estate has been home to the same family for over 700 years which is astonishing.
Oliver Cromwell was even imprisoned overnight in the library by Trooper’ Jane Ingilby after the Battle of Marston Moor in 1644.
As you can imagine Ripley Castle has featured both on the big screen and television.
You may have seen this on The Yorkshire Television children's series The Flaxton Boys (1969-1973) as the fictional Flaxton Hall.
The 1976 Disney film Escape from the Dark, filmed Ripley Castle as the home of Lord Harrogate, played by Alastair Sim.
The BBC Television series Gunpowder (2017) also used the castle as one of it’s locations.

There is another waterfall at the other end of the lake but I am trying to keep my video length down to a minimum for the flight only episodes. Also the birds were huge near the water and I was only able to fly when they were grounded lol.

Aww thanks liamf07 I appreciate that. Trust me you can, just take your time and don’t rush things. You can always try a few times to do a single shot if you don’t get it right first time. Sometimes when you watch one of my videos that might say be 3 mins long for example I might have done 30 mins/ 1 hour worth of footage. You will end up with too much footage and have to narrow it down. I have to bin so many great shots as you have to draw a line somewhere lol. There must be some great snow scenes out there for you at the moment.

@@LMJFPHOTOGRAPHY Victoria Tower is a good place to practice and good subject matter. Editing will come to you naturally over time and you will end up with your own style of videos. I use LumaFusion myself at the moment and learn a little more with each edit lol.

Hi Dave, I hope you enjoyed the video. I always contact sites and had to use different areas to take off and land plus used a spotter as well to create it. Many sites don’t respond or interact with you unfortunately which is such a shame as there are so many amazing places out there. Hi, It’s always worth asking them as the staff are very friendly there. The Castle is surrounded by the local village and has many public places you can take off from and land but is worth asking as you would get a better vantage point if on the castle grounds itself.
