There used to be a Ripley's Believe It Or Not in Chicago at 1500 North Wells Street in Old Town. It opened in the late '60s. It's now since closed and no longer exists sadly. I've been to the one in Wisconsin Dells. I have a tin that has one of the old comic strip that I got at the gift shop. The one where you enter from where you leave the spooky area. The Chamber Of Horrors section at the one in Texas.

Actually stopped the video at 4:40 out of curiosity, and the artifact is a protection against insect bites, which seems to make good sense. But you are right, no additional information needed on that one. Never saw the shadow sculptures before. These are nice, an amazing art! Very nice episode, as always. Thank you Jacob!

I visited the Niagra Falls area when I was 13. That was in the 70s. One of the places we visited was Ripley's, only a 5th of what I saw was there back then, including the Fallen Building facade. Most of the Exhibits are rotated between all the Museums as you pointed out with the Possum. Now I know where those oddities that the Old Ciruses had seems to end up at one of the Ripley Museums! I've visited one of the Ripley's museums once a decade!

I remember watching both of the Ripley's Believe it or Not TV shows. I liked the original show better than the remake. Jack Palance was a much better host than Dean Cain. Jack's deep and gravely voice added to the creepy and strange vibe the show had. I also loved him in City Slickers.

Here's an unsolicited tip I cut and pasted from the internet: The LED light flickering in the video becomes apparent because the frames per second (FPS) recording of the camera is not aligned with the frequency of electricity. Adjusting the shutter speed: At 60 Hz so you will need a frame rate of 30p with a shutter speed divisible by 60 - 1/60, 1/120, etc. At 50 Hz, you need 25 FPS at a shutter speed like 1/50 or 1/100. I think the US and Canada are both 60 Hz.

1:53 I assume the 3 of them are broken or something. If the 3 animatronics in the lobby broke then it’s a bit sad. A lot of people liked seeing them move by looking through the window they are next to. Also the guy climbing the pole outside was gone. I think it was gone since 2020.
