It's cute that he thinks that beginners could do any of these. I can do crunches but nowhere near any of this (especially lifting the hips). We had to do sit-ups in school, with someone holding our feet down, but there's no way I could do it now, in my 40s.

Guys ive been doing this workout for about 4 weeks now, 4-5 times a week and ive never seen so much development on my abs also while lowering my calories and fats down significantly i am starting to get a six pack.
@Super89miller3 жыл бұрын

@ghenulo Жыл бұрын
Congrats. I have no interest in getting a six pack, as there's no way anyone would ever know I had one (it seems that the only reason anyone gets a six pack is to show off but considering how deformed I am, there would be nothing to show off), but good for you if that's what you want. My doctor says I need to build some core strength and gave me a booklet about crunches (normal and rotating; the rotating ones hurt my spine, though; maybe I'm just doing them wrong, or maybe my spine is just that misshapen), bridges, and planks (which are far too painful to by knees and forearms), and I found this video looking for other core exercises. I would love to lose weight to get my body fat low enough that I can comfortably wear winter clothes all year (I always get embarrassed when I have to wear shorts and short-sleeve shirts in the summer; not having an excuse to wear a balaclava and gloves is also frustrating), but I don't know how. I'm already below the minimum recommended calories a day for a man and am still overweight.

@chibay995 жыл бұрын
what i like about your videos the most is the "functional explanation" of everything. Its great to not only hear "do this, then that exercise" but instead "do this to cover this function of the muscle, do that to cover this function of the muscle" - Really awesome that you always include and spread your knowledge
@Toad_Moto5 жыл бұрын
I used to be a gym guy, but was never super dedicated. I always told myself, one day I'd have abs but I kept letting excuses get the best of me. I had multiple surgeries on my knees and stopped going to the gym for about 5 years. I lost a lot of muscle, put on fat and became roommates with depression. The last few years I've had a lot of hip pain and back pain. I drank way too much (especially alone) to self medicate and deal with stress (in the worst ways possible.) To add to my self pity, I was diagnosed, this time last year, with a torn labrum in my left hip as well as a small bone tumor in my hip from Paget's disease. It took way too many doc appointments and way too long to finally find the source of my pain. I had hip surgery last March and luckily, the recovery was actually a walk in the park . The end of November 2018 I told myself I'm tired of being out of shape, out of alignment, weak and not active like I always used to be. I know most of my Myofascial pain is from not lifting and being fit - same goes for everything mental too. Anyway, I started working out again and got a gym membership the last month or so has been a challenge, but very rewarding. I've also sobered up the last 4 weeks and don't care to drink again. I'm 35 now, and damn it's hard to get back in it, but I think I just made it past the initial this is too hard curve. I'm feeling pretty damn good and motivated. I'm glad I stumbled upon this channel. It has been very helpful, educational and a confident booster. I don't mean to share too much, but I find more accountability when writing and sharing my journey. Here's to 2019 being the first year for me to get abs and into the best shape of my life. 👊

35 isn’t old, don’t let that put you off. I’m 32 and feel fitter than when I was in my 20’s. It’s tough because it’s just tough, nothing worth having is easy. You can do this, you want it, that’s the first step. Find what works for you and stick to it. You’re doing this for you, you will feel better mentally and physically.

I Love The Idea of Beginner workouts. Im not exactly in shape, but I am more athletic than some family and friends, so getting them to do workouts and train is difficult, coz They may not have the ability or base to perform certain workouts (due to larger belly fat or lack of strength, etc) So more videos like this for beginners that they can perform is a lifesaver, coz being able tp direct them to videos from a professional like You, will give them a chance to make a change in their health and life overall, and not give up because they cant follow what im doing either. Not to mention how essential these workouts are and having Jeff teach the basics and explain how to go about even the basic situp and how to go about training muscles, not just randomly
@leandrog27854 жыл бұрын
Jeff: Does the whole workout with perfect form and little rest, while speaking the whole time. Me: - Tries doing Halos and does erratic movements instead of circles. - While doing Reverse Corkscrews sprains a triceps. - Tries the Plank with Pendulum (without arm reachouts) and can't do even 10 seconds. Then tries a normal plank and cuts the elbow on the hard floor, tries again with a rag under them, does only 50 seconds. - Tries Chainsaws but abs are so tired that even raising the hips is impossible. - Can't do sit-ups for 60 seconds.

If you didn't win the Giveaway, you guys should just pay up and buy the lifetime program. In 4 months, starting at 160lbs and a hardgainer that hasn't worked out in 12 years, I've lost 8 pounds of pure fat (probably more) according to the scale, and obviously gained muscle, not even on a "strict" diet (cut the sodas/candy/sugar - buy a McMuffin instead of large fries, can of tuna instead of can of spaghettiOs, etc.). I did all that just from watching Jeff's KZbin videos and doing the work. I'm very curious about the full AthleanX experience and will likely buy the full workout program(s) (including "Ultimate Arms" and the "Xero" Body Weights only). 8lbs of fat lost + reduced pants size + muscle gains = way more than paying the full price of the program. I've never had a 6-pack in my entire life, I now have a 4-pack and well on my way!

I love that this is a beginner workout but u still made it a bit challenging...i see a lot of “beginner” videos and they tend to be waaaaay too easy...beginners need a challenge too🙌🏽

Question for Jeff: How can I tell if a workout was intense enough for me? Should I be totally sore the next day or sore for only a couple hours? Btw great vids.

I’m so happy I found this channel. It’s done me a ton of good. I was only doing a couple of different exercises and now I feel like I can do a lot more and do them in a way that won’t get me hurt. Thank you for doing what you do!

Idiots how about you ask or even read what the description is. He has stated more then once everything is random. Doesnt matter if you manage to do it 4 seconds after the video is posted it's all randomized within the hour. It's basically like winning a lottery but with less people in competition. Stop saying oh I was first to comment and didnt get it. That has nothing to do with it. It's more then likely computerized to make it fair which is more then generous. He already does alot for the fitness group in general. Me personally dont have the time to even try this "lottery win" but it's so annoying when people play a game but dont care to look at the rules and then cry about losing.

I think of opposite. People who make you feel good about urself make you over confident but those who belittle your ambitions make you feel challenged and force you to prove urself. I don't say you are wrong. It's just a difference of opinion.

I'm in week 2 of a personally created program I'm trying for six weeks but I think I'm going to invest in one of your programs after this to see the difference in gains. I've introduced others to your channel and havent heard one person ever call BS on you. keep it up!

Another very nice video! Can you Jeff please make a video about workout splits (for teens) and make couple of workout videos for TEENS. Cause im sure there are many teens out there trying to lose fat, build muscle to get that "ripped physique". But there is a ton of information and so many channels out there who have started their fitness journey themselves and they dont have as good knowledge as you do. So can you please make a TEEN SERIES maibe, where you talk about fundemental things, how often go to gym and all the other basic stuff plus advanced tips that you have discovered over the years of experience. The reason why im asking this, is that I am teen (15 year old) I started working out cause i was fat, and i couldnt do any pushups (even on knees), i could bench press roughly 30 pounds x 5 and i coudlnt do a single pull up. I started working out in Mid JUNE 2018. First my target was to get that 6-pack, lose those extra pounds i had gained cause of lack of activity, siting on computer all day long and eating junk food (( energy drinks, gummy bears (the ones that JESSE LOVES) fries, and other unhealthy food). But at got boring do only do 30 min+ cadrio and i started searching for advice how to build muscle the best optimal way. I subbed to many popular youtube channels but the probelm is that most of them were persons who had no education when it came to training, and all those channels focused on grown-ups BUT THEN i found ATHLEAN-X. I have to admit that your videos Jeff have helped me so many times and fixed my problems, like hurting knees ( i had hurting knees, cause i had low D-vitamin levels, and i was kinda fat, but also my muscles were weak) Postures fixes. I have taken your advice and ended my every workout with face pulls "perfect reps" usually i end up doing 3-4 sets of 8 reps. I train my rotator cuff. There are not enough words out there to describe how much you have helped me only in those 6 months. I started keeping my own training diary (thats why i know all the info i have written in here). I have had those periods when i have lack of motivation, then you or few other channels i have been watching releases a new idea or method for and exercise and OF COURSE I WANT TO TEST IT. But now i feel like im stuck. I have progressed in my deadlift, first it was 20kg =44 pounds, now i can do 100kg (220 pounds) x1 or 2 but i still usually do my reps with 60 or 70kg, cause i can squeeze my lower back muscles better and focus on that slow controlled movement. I have also progressed in my bench press (was 13x5) now i can do 65 kgs (143 pounds) 1 rep max. And i can do at least 3 pull.ups in row (4 or 5 chin-ups) But now i have reached a point, where i have hardest time growing my chest and biceps, over last months i have seen no improvements in my sterength. ONly on my biceps i can crank out a rep or two more, but my biceps and chest still look like shit. All other parts back, legs, shoulder and even triceps have been gettin' bigger. But my stuck points are chest and biceps. During my chest workouts i dont feel my chest very little or not at all and i have tryed fixing mind to muscle connection and really focusing on that chest, also i have tryed some one arm at a time work, but my workouts have gotten longer and longer ( on chest, biceps day) cause i just cant feel my chest. During my biceps workout i feel more on brachioradialis (even during regular curling - palms facing sealing). Overrall your tips have helped me a lot and now i have those 6-pack lines that i can see, not that clearly but still i can see them. SO yeah thats it, I hope you read my comment Jeff and answer me in comments or make a video about my problems, and me and i think many other people would appreciate if you make TEEN SERIES, where you cover basic and fundemental things etc ( i think you know better what to put in those videos). Thank you very much Jeff and Jesse for keeping my motivation up and i have to admit, that im not that nervous anymore and working out is a way to relax for me.

That alternate action of the hooking of the feet for sit-ups is genius for avoiding back strain
@finnbird95705 жыл бұрын
So I grew up doing sit-ups with something holding my feet down (thanks a lot past me) now pretty much every ab exercise I do uses my hip flexors much more than my abs, and I can’t do long ab workouts because they’re so weak. How can I learn to isolate my abs more and strengthen them rather than my hip flexors. Thanks in advance!!

I just started applying a bunch of your techniques in the gym and at home and I'm feeling better about myself everyday. Granted I'm only 3 weeks in, but I wanted to thank you dude! Best fitness KZbinr out there!! 💪🤘

Yikes! I'd like to be 125 pounds. I'm currently about 205; my highest was 289 and my lowest (in adulthood) was 168 (eating so little that I felt weak all the time and would sometimes collapse). Even at 168 I had a gut. I can only imagine how low I'd have to go to have a flat stomach (would 125 even be low enough?).
