It’s funny, I saw this video a year ago while looking into buying an import cruiser as my first bike. Once I owned it for about 6 months, my parents moved up to Arizona and I’ve been dying to ride my bike there and record it. Getting recommended this video again, i’m realizing they moved pretty near to where you made the video so this whole time i’ve been subconsciously destined to recreate this video without realizing it lol.

@YerGoodBuddyKeith11 ай бұрын
That's what I'm saying man. So many people don't wind these bad boys up. They see the top speed being lucky to hit 100mph and write it off as slow and boring. You can hammer the hell out of these bikes without much backlash. You have to try to get the tire to spin. The way he's riding and how we ride these machines is where they're fun is at. It's like getting on a old bike but it runs smooth starts reliably and doesn't bottom out. It's my daily and i never end my rides in the same mood i was in before.
@choppergirl10 ай бұрын
I bought one yesterday, it's a big, heavy, dangerous bike. More like a car than a bike, like you're sitting on top of a locomotive hard to stop. I like my early 1980's air cooled inline twins better. Simpler to work on, lighter, and more flickable, stoppable, and easier to control. I do not recommend a Shadow as your first bike. Even with 15 years of daily driving motorcycles year around, the Shadow scares the living sh1t out of me. It's very pretty, very heavy, very hard to stop, very deceptive. Defo do not ever get a Shadow as your first bike, unless you're built like the buff earlier version of Dwayne the Rock Johnson, before he went soft... which, 97% of us are probably not.
@_007B10 ай бұрын
@@choppergirl it’s a 500lb bike
@choppergirl10 ай бұрын
@@_007BI know, I quoted that figure when talking to the seller, but it feels more like 1000 lbs when you're trying to steer or hold it up, regardless of the low seat height. I bought it because I thought it was as close to a bog standard motorcycle there was... but there's decidedly something unnerving about it. You feel like you're sitting on top of a locomotive that only wants to go straight and is going to take considerable distance to stop. On my other motorcycles when there was a car suddenly in front of me I have swerved left onto the grass into mailbox world, or swerved right into oncoming traffic lane and immediately swerved back left to avoid becoming bug splat in a matter of knee jerk reaction microseconds.... thanks to gamer reflexes... but that's not happening on the Shadow. On the Shadow you're plowing right into what is stopped in front of you. It drives more like a car than a motorcycle. That is my impression so far. The more I ride it, the more I'll get accustom to maintaining much greater separation with other traffic.

I own an 06 Aero Spirit Shadow and it is AMAZING. . . flawlessly smooth and looks great (you will get countless compliments when you explain it's not a "full sized cruiser") Hell, if it makes you happy do it! I did as my first real road-bike ever almost brand new from OG owner at 2500 miles (his wife made him sell it because he was inept and *touched* it down in a parking lot). Feels bad man. . . but THANKS for the amazing deal on a crazy cash value but LEGENDARY value looking bike. It has a timeless classic swept look (or it did in 2006, I guess IDK about today), but a 2006 Honda Shadow Spirit is like a beginners dream for cruisers!
@shanedog0072 жыл бұрын
I guess I can't speak for later models, but the 06' has a VERY forgiving wide stance and slow to roll in until max turn radi. where it grabs very hard. Very low seat height at 30.5 inches IIRC. It has sufficient power for a grown man on interstates, and is very economical in operating costs. My only complaint is if your a BIG BOI with tall legs, your knees can hit the standard bars in a tight turn, I'm speaking like 6'+ though. It also is VERY quiet (which is a good thing, Honda makes exceptional mufflers) but I wanted a bit more sound and power and am currently throwing on a V&H pipeset. All said and done, I would give it a 8.5/10 for a beginners bike. Not underwhelming at all, but teaches you some ropes and looks COOL AF while doing so!!!! *edit, from his groin forward everything in the vid it the SAME EXACT bike, yes you will love it *unless the rare exception your like 6'6"*
