Per the developer today: "1.0.2 now has Fit as the default for generated images, and the images are included as clips in the returned Event."

Honestly I feel it would be significantly faster and easier just to use it as a standalone app and import the images rather than go through all of the mumbo-jumbo with Final Cut and its markers, XML and what have you. Can the app be used as standalone? They're missing out on a ton of customers if not. Can't wait to eventually hand over all my creativity to the robots.
@markspencer4557 Жыл бұрын
If you are going to use a standalone app, why not just directly use Stable Diffusion in something like Automatic1111, or Midjourney on Discord, or Dalle3 on Bing? With all of those options, you can do much much more with your prompting and image creation, like in-painting, out-painting, and uploading reference images.

I agree. This process is not intuitive. OK, yes, this is just the beginning, but I can't wait until I can say, "Hey, Siri, give me a CU shot of chillis!"

@@markspencer4557 Do those work locally with no internet? That's why I'd want for this to work in a far more straightforward and faster manner. I'm surprised it never even occurred to the authors of the app to do this. Generally I'm of the opinion that AI-generated stuff is only for the lazy and the talentless, but it's fun to mess with. Its also good for repairing small parts of an image here and there.

That's great! It makes the process faster, and you don't need to download images from a stock site. Plus, you can even use it for commercial projects. I can also see the potential for generating videos down the road. Thanks for sharing!

I am 100%, emphatically behind ai integration to speed up my fcp workflow, but this just feels like, a lot, for what you’re getting. Brining in Stock or midnorney still feels like the way to do this. I’m looking forward to see something a little more native, maybe some generative fill. And of course, video once it’s no longer a fever dream nightmare. But for real, keep exploring this stuff with us and thanks for your work. It’s only getting better from here! 👍🏼

As a CTO in a software company I can confirm that I have developers who have the same concerns and they are about as far from artsy types as you can get. AI is very disruptive for all fields, just like cars were in the early 1900s, computers in the 40s-50s, spreadsheets and industrial robots. When disruptive changes hit mainstream we all have to adapt. Peace my friend.

First time to your channel. Very intuitive, love the look & pace. 5-stars!!! Question: How do you insert breaks in the RED play line? I did chapter breaks on my youtube videos but the RED play bar is still solid. I noticed you guys have that on a lot of your videos. It is VERY convenient. If I hover over each area I can quickly see what that segment is about as well as get a quick idea as to length and placement. Much easier than scrolling down into the description and clicking on chapter timestamps. Maybe you guys will make a tutorial on How to do this? Great channel. Thank you for all you do!!!!!

I was wondering when this AI generated images feature will show up in Final Cut Pro . I'm pretty sure Apple will implement this option for short video clips in the next few years. The next generations of M Silicon chips will have the power to do this. It's an absolutely crazy time for creative , which possibilities these tools already offer us today . Will definitely take a closer look and follow the app updates . Thanks for the interesting review and also like that you guys thinking outside the box. AI will definitely change the creative workflow in future.

If I understand (some) of what you said... I pay over $500 for a MidJourney annual subscription. This $30 spend gives me AI image generation FREE. That's a bargain, but I'll still renew my MJ sub, because of the cross-platform ability to generate from my iPad or iPhone. But, a real bargain for one more budget-conscious.

@@markspencer4557 thanks I appreciate the information. I’m just a bit confused on why the app requires images to be generated in FCP instead of just having the option to be integrated into FCP.
@markspencer4557 Жыл бұрын
The images aren't generated inside FCP, they are generated in the Picture This app. But I think you mean why start in FCP. It makes sense to me since while you are editing you know exactly where you need a shot so you can drop a marker and keep working. Then you can have the app automatically generate shots for all those markers in a batch and place them exactly where you want them in the project. Otherwise you would need to manually import them to the Browser, then manually place each on at the right location in the timeline.
@joecastellano7201 Жыл бұрын
Wish it simply created an AI Images event and placed the images there. Too many hoops. If it’s in an effort to free the machine to keep working, I’m ok with a 6 minute break here and there.
