Riquewihr is a town located on the Alsace wine route, in eastern France. Its cobbled streets are dotted with half-timbered winemaker's shops and tasting rooms. Winegrower's tools and a restored kitchen are on display in the Maison de Vigneron, dating from the 16th century. The Dolder Tower from 1291 houses the Dolder Museum and centuries-old weapons. The Tower of Thieves is a former prison from the 14th century where instruments of torture are kept.
Between the Crêtes des Vosges and the plain of Alsace, Riquewihr is a medieval city, located in the heart of the Alsatian vineyard, classified among the "Most Beautiful Villages of France".
This magnificent city has been able to combine for centuries the quality of its architecture with that of its wines, recognized worldwide, hence its name of "Pearl of the Alsatian vineyard".
Riquewihr, one of the essential places to visit in Alsace, is an "open-air museum" which has managed to preserve its authenticity, behind its walls that only the vines now besiege.
Riquewihr, made up of a very old urban fabric, is made up of, among other things:
half-timbered houses from the 13th to the 18th century, closely joined,
du Dolder, preserved city gate dating from the 13th century,
which form an exceptional architectural ensemble.
The type of Alsatian house reaches its most accomplished expression in Riquewihr by offering all the possible variations of sculpted half-timbering, oriel windows, interior courtyards embellished with old wells and fountains.
Museums allow you to discover the historical and cultural heritage of the Pays de Ribeauvillé:
the Tower of Thieves (former prison of Riquewihr),
the 16th century winegrower's house,
the Dolder Tower (former defensive gate from the 13th century)
Admirably flowered in spring and summer, the city takes on its Christmas colors during the Advent period, in a unique atmosphere that combines the magic of Christmas with Alsatian traditions.

Just had a great holiday in Alsace and stayed in this village, the second time. The landlord of a hotel in the centre explained that at the end of WWII the German commander of the village refused to destroy as they left, so this village is totally original. A truly wonderful place, on the wine route.

Этот городок нарядный, глаз радует разноцветные дома, дворики с цветами и зеленью. Праздник! Улочки пошире, что тоже хорошо, а то в некоторых поселениях улочки настолько узкие...что как- то не комфортно, стены прям давят, а здесь нет- цвет и свет присутствуют, ярко, празднично! Мне понравилось.

У нас в Европе есть старые ухоженные деревни, в некоторых местах дороги настолько узкие, что можно запросто задеть дом. Но за 33 года проживания в этой местности, еще ни разу не слышала, чтобы задели дом, особенно в ущельях, где с обоих сторон горы зажали местность. Но сейчас так вообще не строят. Раньше на дорогах меньше было движения.

Я первый раз вижу такую деревню. Эта деревня, прекраснее, чем у нас некоторые города. Я очень люблю смотреть как живут люди в других странах, их быт. Это очень познавательно. И действительно как будто побывала в этой деревне. Даже странно называть эту красоту деревней. Спасибо!!!!! ❤❤❤❤

У меня как-то на ленте вышел видос ""красивые деревни рф"".... дикость дикая, серость серая, мрак, убогость, заборы, заборы, заборы 😁... Конечно в рф есть дома современные, их узнаю я сразу не потому что они новые, а потому что в русских деревнях нет инфраструктуры вообще никакой. И водосточная труба в деревне не связана с канализацией , потому что канализации нету !! Дождевая вода льется прямо под ноги хозяину дома.

J'ai l'impression de vivre dans un village de conte de fées maintenant. mystérieux et beau Il y a même une statue de Bouddha dans un village français. C'est une ville très unique et mystérieuse. @@Diana-bw6se да я могу поспорить . Я живу в местности где не обшарпанные. Собаки есть. Как впрочем и везде. А там тоже хватает хлама и разрухи. И мне смешны сравнения , как можно сравнивать горы и степь? Африку и снежные полюса. У всех разная культура и менталитет . Восприятие жизни тоже разное.

Alors Là .....On en arrive et avec les décos de Noël c'est pour moi, le PLUS BEAU des villages de Noël... de la région de Colmar. Je pense, non, j'en suis sure car lorsque je suis entrée à Riquewhir,( nous sommes arrivés par le bas du village), j'étais émerveillée ...... , Je ne savais plus où poser mon regard, tellement le village et les déco étaient ...Waouh ! ! ! Nous y sommes retournés une seconde fois à l'occasion de ce séjour début décembre 2022.....🦉

Поражает в ноябре обилие зелени и цветов. Жаль, что в России это большая редкость - цветы на балконах. Поставят остекление и сидят, зарывшись в своих норках.

The village is German, so is the architecture and the local language. It became French at the end of the 17th century through the French Annexation Wars. The author left this out.
