I am also a retired makeup artist and worked for Laura Mercier and Trish McEvoy too! I still have a couple of her brushes that are over 20 years old. Same with my Bobbi Brown brushes. I worked for her and was gifted many brushes. I also worked for many other brands. I do miss the freebies, although I doubt brands are as generous any more. P S I ordered that palette too😄

If you could use only one eyeshadow brush (for small hooded eyes), which one would you choose? Thank you.
@magdaparise69465 жыл бұрын
For the Esum, check maybe the Morphe. M507. For pencil brush, both MAC E30 (more dense, I use it in the inner corner) and Sigma E30 (softer, I use under the lower lashes) are great options.

Very nice video on the brushes you use. I like how you use smaller brushes to get shadow in the outer edge of crease. And use that one ESUM brush as a blending brush in the crease. I’m definitely going to try it. Great video!

Risa; I love your channel. Thank you for sharing your expertise. I was wondering if you can post the lipliner you are using and any gloss?
@cattastroficka1964 жыл бұрын
When you started explaining the EsumW36 I knew exactly how you were going to use it, because I use the Morphe M429 the same way. I, too, have hooded eyes and use it to blend above my crease. I loved the brush so much I bought a 2nd one! Morphe’s site makes the brush look thicker at the top bristles but actually the white bristles somewhat come to a point. It’s also very soft, perfect for blending. Love your videos!

I really enjoyed this video, Risa, & was pleasantly surprised to find that the brushes I've been using are similar in shape & size as the ones you've recommended, & I use them for the very same purposes as yourself. I have hooded (as well as deepset) eyes, so I guess necessity becomes the mother of invention in finding what works best for the unique challenges that come with having that particular eye shape. 😉👍🏻

Thank you Risa for the brush video. Brushes and knowing how to use them correctly still feels like a mystery to me. I always learn so much from your tutorials! I am dying to try Sydney Grace shadows; that palette is so pretty. Does Sydney Grace have a reasonable delivery time?
@RisaDoesMakeup5 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure about their delivery time because they’ve always just sent product to me. I would check the website and see if it gives a shipping window. Sadly when I went to link the palette, it showed that it is currently on back order.

Hi Risa, I would love to try Sydney Grace Eyeshadows as I know Lisa J also raves about them but I don’t think they are available here in the UK, unless someone can tell me otherwise?? I have small hooded eyes and couldn’t be without my pencil brush. The sigma E30 is a good one. I also like some of the milani brushes for a cheaper option. They also do some smaller ones that are pretty soft xx

Thank you for your brush recommendations! I’m waiting on the Sydney Grace pallet in the lighter version. It’s not supposed to ship until sometime in February. Hi Risa...hope the New Year is off to a great start for you and your family ;o) I have learned over the past few years that brushes are indeed the most important step in makeup....I have tried so many brushes over the years....and of course I have my favorites that I would be completely lost if they disappeared.....I really want to try those BK Beauty brushes....I've seen so many youtubers raving about them....but when you and Mel Thompson recommended them they really caught my attention ;o)

Hi Gina! Full disclosure- I didn’t expect to love the BK brushes as much as I do. They truly are some of the best I’ve ever tried.
@analezaa63065 жыл бұрын
I just got a few of those BK Beauty brushes because of Mel Thompson recommending them, and since they're cruelty free, I was sold. And when I opened the package I thought - meh. Wrong. They are a dream. I didn't even feel when normal rushing, that I needed to swirl the edges. I think I may order more to have doubles.

BK BEAUTY has a 5brush set for hooded eyes,but,I've never purchased anything from them yet the reviews for the brushes were great! Edit:They are $75 for 5 brushes 😳but I am really considering purchasing them bc OMG my eyes are hooded.

I love all of mine. I bought the 101 first to try it. I did the after pay and used the code lisa10. Then I bought the small eye set. Then a month after she did a 20% off sale so I bought the 106. But for all I did the after pay option so it at least breaks up the payments.

As a woman with small, hooded eyes, I find the BK 201 and 202 brushes to be too large for the specific eye areas. I am surprised that you as a woman with hooded eyes uses these brushes as your everyday, go to brushes.
