Thank you for stressing right off the bat that “There is no magic wand”! I’m a retired cosmetologist and every day of my career I would get at least one client who expected to achieve their perfect look, whether it was hair, makeup or both, with zero effort on their part. Results require effort. On a day to day basis most people, including my husband, don’t realize that I wear makeup at all. However I put alot of effort into my daily routine to minimize perceived flaws and accentuate my best features. I can do this in 15 minutes. Date night I go glam which only takes 30 minutes. Skin care, body care, hair care/styling and makeup, no matter how minimal, requires effort. It’s okay to decide not to prioritize it, but those folks likely aren’t Risa subscribers and fans 😊

@@RisaDoesMakeup Hi Risa I just adore you & have purchased so many products you've recommended! Question: Do I put the eyeshadow primer on AFTER I apply my foundation? I bought the P. Louise like you have, but I just need to know exactly WHEN to apply it! So I usually do foundation, concealer, powder. Do I do the eyeshadow primer right before powder? I'm desperate for your help on this!

lesliedemarco1691 From all the videos I've seen during the years I think that the order doesn't really matter bc if they use eye primers they don't use foundation on their lids, Risa included if I'm not mistaken. Lots of them do the eyes before the face, to avoid fallouts. The difference is between those who set their eye primers and those who don't. I think it also depends on the eye primer. Some are gripping, some are smooth. I also often saw Jen Phelps using the NYX glitter glue on her eyes when applying certain shimmers. They pop more and don't fall out. Hope it helps 😊

@@flowerchild2657 When I put my foundation on, I try not to get it under my eyes and on the eyelids itself, but sometimes it gets on there. After foundation I put concealer. Should I THEN put the eyelid primer on my lids after all of that for best results, to make the eyeshadow last longer? I'm thinking yes, tell me please!!

I'm in my early 60's. Maybelline "The Falsies" in brownish-black is my ride-or-die mascara. It was crazy hard to find a waterproof, brownish black mascara. (Waterproof is the only mascara that does NOT smear under my eyes. Brownish black because I'm very fair) It even has fibers to make my lashes look too good to be true. Mascara & lipstick is my minimalist makeup routine. I think that we all have that product or two that makes us FEEL beautiful. 😎

Try the Kiss falscara eyelashes that go under the lashes since you have heavy lids resting over your eyelashes, that should really open your eye look. @@flowerchild2657 Prostaglandins are growth hormones that affect lots of different things in the body. They have done studies now concerning their safety, but cosmetic companies do not have to disclose this information because it's not considered a drug. Latisse, Rodan and Fields, Revitalash and others have these in them. I feel like this has definitely aged my face and absolutely regret using it just for the sake of longer lashes.

I had to Google what deep eye troughs were. I've had them my entire life, I just didn't know the name. I'm not an MUA, but here's my routine. I'm 62, so all of my skin is a bit dry. I start with a light eye moisturizer under my eyes & on my lids. Energy brushes makes a triangular concealer brush. It allows me to put products exactly where I want without putting any product where I don't want. I put a THIN layer of Catrice Under Eye Brightener only on the purplish-gray area under my eyes & nowhere else. Then I put a very THIN layer of Tarte Creamy Shape Tape only on the purplish area under my eyes & nowhere else. You could put a tiny bit of powder as a final layer. The reason that I don't is because my skin's a little dry-you'll need to experiment to decide what works for you. Catrice Eye Brightener from Amazon is super inexpensive. The Creamy Shape Tape that I've been using for months is a trial size. It doesn't take much product when you are only using it where you actually need it. The Catrice Brightener & the triangular concealer brush combined was a game-changer for me.

I did buy the BK beauty eye brushes so I think I’m just out of practice or my eyes have gotten worse, because I could do this no problem a few years ago. That and my brows. Ugh. I got my dad’s jet black eyebrows that used to be thick and now are not. I have to lighten them, then dye them. I really need to shape them.
