Tim may have a raspy voice, but his passion for music, his powerful lyrics, and the bands friendship, is what makes rise against... Tim is by far one of my favorite artists, his lyrics speak the truth, and even when there not political, there inspiring, tell you to just be yourself and rock ^^ this is one of the few true rock bands left in our generation...

The reason the crowd was lame, is cause it was so quiet! You could talk to the person next to you no problem at all! They came on really loud, but then got turned down loads after the 1st song! Really ruined their set!!

Im not hating on Tim :/ Tim is my idol and by far one of the most talented people i've met. To be honest I look back at this comment now and think why the fuck did i complain about his voice... His raspyness is a gift... I actually pretty much just started listening to them when i wrote that comment. A year later i claim this as my most favorite bands. I even drove 36 hours to see them play at the Carolina Rebellion... but alas it got rained out, but i still got to meet Tim... and he is amazing

@KingsFan311 All morning the main stage had issues with sound. When it came to Rise Against everyone thought it was fixed but it clearly wasn't. Tim got everyone chanting and really pumped for the song starting. The full band burst into song but couldn't hear a single word that Tim was singing. Was such an anti climax that the crowd sort of went "YEEEEH... wha?". They fixed it half way through the set.

Also, the rasp in his voice is awesome, I've always loved it since I started listening to them. The rasp may not be as pronounced as in latter years, but his voice has just changed as he's aged I reckon, gives it a little more timbre if anything.

Rise against is amazing and Tim's rasspyness make the band unique because what other band sounds like rise against and the same with linkin park what other band sounds like linkin park so the singers and the instruments are really what makes a band unique i love rise and i love lp the best bands i have heard ever and they have really helped me be the person i am today. actually a proven method that works for me: 1) get a classical education in music (first on piano, then guitar bass and vocals) 2) get in a car and drive on the highway blasting rise against 3) sing at the top of your lungs until you no longer can 4) repeat while commuting and after work for 3 years congratulations on your new powerful voice!
