SOONER FANS: Blake doesn’t see what we all see, or know what we know due to our intimacy and connection to this program and this coaching staff… I could say the same thing about what we see and know about LSU. I see LSU as talented, but extremely flawed, not just in terms of personnel, but in Brian Kelly’s approach to running that program. But, while I believe I look deeper than the average fan at programs besides the one I love, I suspect that I’m not seeing everything he sees when he looks at the Tigers and projects where he sees them over the next 1,2, 10 seasons, just like he has surface-level-at-best understanding of not only where OU is today, but the mess it was left in when Venables arrived on campus in December 2021. It’s easy to be completely uninformed and dismissive about what it means to be an Oklahoma Sooner, or an LSU Tiger, or a member of the Alabama Crimson Tide, or insert the program you’d like, when your focus generally goes no further than the team you’re emotionally invested in. Blake only sees the surface of what is happening in Norman, the bottom line from the first two seasons under BV, the overall record, Jackson’s 3 interceptions against Arizona in the Alamo Bowl, and the fact that Lincoln won 11 games with Caleb Williams in his first season at USC, after the year before the Trojans had won just 4 games under Todd Helton. He doesn’t realize the shape Riley left Oklahoma in, and what it took to win 10 games last season, regardless of what conference they did it in. He just has no frame of reference as an LSU guy nor does it resonate with him just how serious not only we as fans, but Coach Venables, his staff, and the players in that building take the responsibility of upholding the standard of excellence that was set long before he was born. He also doesn’t realize just how determined Sooners everywhere are to the program returning to the mountain top and winning a national championship is, and how important it is to Oklahomans that our Sooners re-establish themselves as a traditional and sustained dominant force in the SEC and on the national landscape. I’m not asking you to love the guy, and certainly don’t expect you to agree with him, Sooner fans, but try not to hate him, and just take our conversation for what it was - good old fashioned college football trash talk in talking season. Thanks for watching and commenting. #BoomerSooner

I saw SEC Mike, for the first time, give OU love, in their latest episode about underrated SEC programs heading into the season. I actually like he and Cousin Shane, even though they haven’t made a habit of giving Oklahoma any shot of being a program to reckon with on their show. Shane was even surprised that Mike said they were a playoff team if the O-Line protects Jackson Arnold this season. The SEC Unfiltered crew is good by me, though I don’t think that collectively they have a ton of respect for Oklahoma overall. I am fine with differing opinions, but I’m doing my job as a creator to point them out and try to serve my audience. There aren’t many creators I just can’t stand at all, my friend. It’s all in good fun for me

@@ssippilandelta4365 who did? I definitely missed that episode.😂 Like I said, I’m fine with people not knowing what I do about Oklahoma, but I certainly have noticed Mike taking notice of what the Sooners are close to being, if not this year in the near future.

Jason, i had to come to a tough reality. The SEC does not view OU as a team worthy of respect. OU is going to have to take our respect from the SEC. They will have to learn the hard way. So be it!!

That’s not true, it’s just everyone is comparing Oklahoma and Texas schedule. And OB experience and revamped line. Oklahoma is a historic program that’s well respected in SEC country. It would be crazy to take Oklahoma lightly.

@@ssippilandelta4365 Believe me, as an OU fan, I can bear witness that there are a LOT of those crazies vocally out there who truly believe OU has only had success because of playing in the b8/b12. For example, they believe if OU had been in the SEC from the beginning, OU would just be another South Carolina or Kentucky & not the true blue blood football program OU is. Another example, we highlight OU’s .500 b12 Championship record. To which, we get met with the “well, that isn’t the SEC” and then have to listen to idiots thinking Tx. is the alpha team coming in. Then, you have crazies that believe they’re the superior program and talking down to OU despite their last 3 wins being in 83, 98, & 10 (that’s once every 12+ years) before their team even proves they’ve improved on the field (looking at you Mizzou). Then you have all these other mid-tier team fans telling OU fans where we belong in the SEC hierarchy before a snap is even played. It’s not so much Georgia, Bama, or even LSU fans chirping. It’s most of the other teams in the SEC and it’s comically baffling and frustrating in that the season can’t get here fast enough so OU can do its talking on the field! I appreciate what your take is, but you’re vastly outnumbered by those being disrespectful to OU & its fans. In time, they’ll realize OU is right up there with LSU & Tx. in 24. However, Tx., Ole Miss, & Midzou only have maybe 3 respectable opponents all season.
@HeadlessAce
@HeadlessAce 9 күн бұрын
@@ssippilandelta4365 You might want to pass that memo to Midzou and all these other mid-tier teams’ fans, trying to tell OU fans where OU belongs in the hierarchy of the SEC without realizing they’re talking about the alpha team (.500 b12 championship win%) of the 2 programs joining in 24. I get that there’s a difference between the b12 & SEC, but to think OU isn’t in tier 2 with LSU & TX. is ridiculous & that ridiculousness is widespread across the SEC & so-called national “experts”. The only thing Midzou, Ole Miss, & Tx. have going for it in 24 is 3-4 respectable games on their schedule all season. Compare that to 5-6 for LSU, 6-7 for Bama, & 6-7 for OU. Talent-wise & coaching across the board, OU & Tx. is definitely tier 2 with LSU, presuming Georgia & Bama is tier 1.

@@CFB-Pod By offsides I mean a little frustrated. Like chastising your kids, and for whatever reason they are not listening to you. I don’t have a problem with not predicting OU to when SEC or come in 2nd place. My problem is failing to realize the Strides that BV and the program has made. I am on board on e’erbody having their opinion, but ole boy lost me when he hinted at OU not/may not be a blue blood. A lot of these guys loose me with LR being a top 10 coach, UT being one of the best 4 teams, and jury still out on BV. They are not consistent, if the jury is still out on BV, then it should definitely be the same with Texas, LR. They need to do more than once with their current teams. The love affair with Texas and LR I don’t understand.

@@kevinalexander3087 I was going right back at him with all that, and I agree that his blue blood comment was stupid, and said as much to him later… In the end, he can hold whatever opinion he wants to hold about OU, but it’s on him when we revisit it later on and I call him out on it… I didn’t think I came off as frustrated with him, but I damn sure don’t agree with him for precisely the reasons you just stated … I enjoy the debate and proving people wrong when they speak in such absolutes despite clearly not being all that informed.

He's also overly obsessed with Williams' bag. 😂👍Though he cries about not having the capital to run a legit NIL game while also claiming ''X isnt worth paying $X for.'' So, he enjoys sitting on a fence...post.
