Yo, Lairon here (creator of this monstrosity). Just wanted to talk a bit about Reptilliang Zing and how it ended up where it is on the ladder. At the start of the 5Ds era, us folks over on RJ's Discord held a tournament where we pitched our decks against each other to determine early ladder placements. RYZ actually went 1-4, so it ended up placed on the second lowest place of the 5Ds ladder right after the Koa'ki Meiru deck. If RJ hadn't lost twice to the Koa'ki deck for week 1 of 5Ds, RYZ would have been the next opponent. There was a second tournament between weeks one and two, and almost every single deck there ended up losing to RYZ when it attempted to climb the ladder so my deck only actually showed up last week instead. Sadly there's no exact science to ladder placement so sometimes decks that are either too strong or too weak sneak through the cracks. Still, big shoutouts to Doubl and Lance from the Discord for their hard work on both organizing these tournaments and trying to accurately place the decks on the ladder.

For what it's worth, I think the deck is really cool and gives major final boss vibes

Damn. I never thought I'd see someone get so consistently butt-blasted by Reptilliane of all things. That deck is crazy.

Man, that last duel was an emotional rollercoaster. Desynchro onto their own stardust, only to bring him back, and start getting huge advantage by negating destruction, then stabbing yourself in the foot with attacking the naga...WOW.

The reptilianne deck has been fun, but maybe it could now be saved for the finale as the ultimate challenge for us to overcome. Stardust turbo does seem like a real good strat into it tho.

I don't think I've ever seen a deck this strong that Borgarbot has had this hard of a time at beating. It practically has every answer at every possible time, which honestly is impressive considering it's piloted by an AI! Usually I've noticed certain enemy decks dominate at one point, then immediately lose next episode due to facing its weakness or bricking hard. But this one has such incredible synergy with itself in so many ways, with even the most unexpected interactions such as Recoil to take control of Fruitfly once its ATK had been switched to 0 by Nyami, or Coral Dragon being immune to Draining Shield because of Bixi. Plus they have Dark Bribe at the worst possible moments for Borgarbot! A very fun watch to see just how Reptillianne Yang Zing can plow through everything, and how everyone's sanity slowly begins to fade as the video progresses :) 19:55 Just wanted to note that Pulao makes unaffected by Spells. It's Bixi who makes unaffected by Traps.

Wouldn't have been particularly useful this week, but I did notice Worm Illidan in the pulls. That seems to have potential as a build-around. It can only target the opponent's cards, which is always a plus in this series. Also importantly, the pop effect is not once-per-turn (not even a soft-once). A deck that can set a lot of cards while also being able to field Illidan could potentially take over a game pretty handily.

no hate to the guy who made the reptilianne list but i think they severely underestimated the power of the deck they were making. like, it'll take a lot of luck and ai moments to win a match against a deck with a ton of good ed monsters, (basically) infinite resources, and freaking denglong lol. it honestly might be a good idea to just remove it from the ladder

What's wild is that this deck was tested against all the others on the Discord ladder and came in 74th out of about 80 decks, losing to even some of the decks we already beat this season. I think its particular play style is just surprisingly well-matched vs my card pool.

That deck is bonkers. Everything floats and it seems to always have Dark Bribe set when a crucial card that would've won the duel is activated.

Hey Rj, have you thought of doing a series like I.A. Train you where you and a number of others do the pulls for each of your AI's to fight it out? Idk just a thought I had like AI boxing with you guys as the managers

In the pre-game screen in EdoPro, click "spectate" then "local AI" and then use the drop down menu on the right to select your deck!

Honestly I think you should just remove this Reptilliane Yang Zing deck from the ladder. It’s far too consistent and able to deal with your monsters, and it’s crushing everything Borger throws at it.
