It's really funny how they are able to do this while Kingdoms of Arda has not released for 7/8 years. Even if it is unfinished, the TOR team is giving us a lot to play with while they continue the development and it's better than nothing. Either the KOA Team is killing the development speed with their painful perfectionism or they are actually not doing anything and it's about to die while all the content and assets are hidden within a vault. Just do what TOR does and give us what has been done already. Very good work to all the TOR team!

First of all: Yup, that's unfortunately true. There wasn't really much after the February 2024 update (Gondorian buildings, Helm's Deep). I just hope that they have quietly made big leaps in production. I think the biggest problem is actually the self-imposed goals: the scope of the first release of Kingdoms of Arda. If I'm not mistaken, the self-imposed goal was to release the entire southern part of Middle Earth - i.e. all of Gondor, Rohan/Isengard and Mordor - for version 1.0. And the team is significantly smaller than that of TOR. The official modding tools have been around for how long? 2 years? Isengard and Mordor also have to include various monsters (i.e. other skeletons) etc. in the army selection. To be honest, I don't know to what extent it is actually possible to simply integrate new skeletons. TOR doesn't have many "special" monsters in the game so far, everyone uses the usual humanoid skeletons. Another problem could be that the team is currently keeping quiet because Rings of Power and War of the Rohirim are currently in the mainstream. They might want to stay under the radar for now so as not to be "discovered" by Warner Brothers and Co. Unfortunately, many major "Lord of the Rings" mod projects have been canceled because of this, especially role-playing games like MERP (for Oblivion).

@@GermanOlle If it's too difficult they shouldn't have made so many announcements and generate hype. Just develop it quietly, lower the scope and release one part while the development goes on and people play it in the meantime, like TOR is doing. So far it has only been a concept showcase, music playlist and 3d model boutique. I understand the whole copyright deal, many lotr mods for other games suffered because of it. I really hope that you are right and they are quiet because of that reason.

@@egekazakmusic Yeah, I agree with you. I personally think the TOR team's release tactic of expanding the world bit by bit with updates is better. The two modding teams are taking two different "philosophical" approaches. As a stark counterexample to Arda: The Japanese mod "Shokuho" also wants to release an almost feature-complete version 1.0 right from the start. At least there are lots of new gameplay trailers, music and monthly detailed blog entries. I miss that in Arda too, here and there pictures or pieces of music are uploaded. But we still don't know anything about certain gameplay mechanics. What about the integration of well-known mods like "Diplomacy", "Bannerkings", "Realistic Battle Mod", "Dismemberment" or "Serve as a Soldier"? We can only wait and hope that there will still be a happy ending and that we can hack our way through Middle Earth at some point. :D

my game started crashing a bunch out of nowhwere. so glad to see a new update is coming soon so i can do a full fresh reinstall with all the new additions. not having access to this mod atm has left a hole in my heart its so fun

Try putting you infantry to one side, or splitting them into 2 groups so that your archers can continue to shoot after melee has engaged. Also, going all archers and splitting them into two groups might be optimal. Have the one the enemy focuses retreat while the other shoots them in the back.
