Mario was in the Pentatonix documentary, he worked for them as a tour assistant, and when they found out about his dreams of being a singer as well as his talent they arranged for him to perform at their concert as well as giving him some vocal coaching. It was awesome to see.

Jay Jordan I need to clarify something...Mario did his music studies and has a Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance from Berklee College of Music in Boston, and although Pentatonix surprised him with opening for them in Boston when he was the assistant to Avi's sister Esther for the On My Way Home Tour, this was not his first time performing, nor was it when they found out about his ability to sing. He actually met Pentatonix formally through the Sing Off - as he was part of Pitch Slapped (from Berklee) who competed in Season 2 and came back for the Sing Off finale in Season 3 (that we all know Pentatonix won.) Mario and Scott had been following each others music way before they actually met! We are forever grateful for their unwavering support of Mario, their amazing friendship and the opportunities they've provided Mario. In fact, Avi and Scott contributed their voices to the title track of Mario's new EP "Heart of Gold" which is out now on iTunes. The song was co-written by Mario, Scott and Ben Bram.

Did you read the dedication at the beginning of the video? They actually said why they released this cover. It was their response to the mass shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Tampa. All of the singers are members of the LGBTQ community and they were making a Pride statement of support and encouragement to the Rainbow community that was in shock and mourning.

I don't understand how they let the girl get to the point where it was up to the audience. Of course they want to see her win. She tugs at the heart strings but let's be honest. This isn't just a contest to win a million dollars, but for a 1 year show in Las Vegas. WTH is a 12 year old gonna do playing a Vegas gig for a year???? It should have gone to Bryan.

Brian Justin Crum will be in the finals of Americas Got Talent tonight. There are many videos of his performances on KZbin esp his cover of Radioheads Creep and his audition of Queens Somebody to Love. He also was on Broadway.

Brian Justin Crum competed in the recent season of America's Got Talent. If you watch his performances, you have to watch them with his story included with the performance because you will realize that his songs all have a meaning to him as a bullied LGBT youth. In his audition he sang "Somebody to Love" by Queen, "Creep" by Radiohead in the Judge Cuts, "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" by Tears for Fears in the quarterfinals, "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins, and "Man in the Mirror" by Michael Jackson in the finals. Every performance was his own version and they were all amazing, especially his "Creep" performance where no one made a single sound during the entire performance until seconds after he finished. It was mesmerizing and full of feels.

Thanks Alex i had had writers block for nearly a whole week and had almost given up the story it was driving me mad so i thought i would have some time to myself last night and saw your reaction to Rise so i watched i have not been here for a while the book had to come first ... I just found this so am commenting late. I really like your interpretation! Many reactors just ooh and ahh at the musicality but you listened to the words AND the emotions. These singers are all members of the LGBTQ community and did this cover after the mass killing at the Pulse nightclub. So it can be seen as their anthem to be true to who they are despite danger and enmity to them. In addition they sang to support their community in that difficult time.

I am amazed that you have no reactions to Dimash Kudaibergen. He hit the world (KZbin) stage for his participation in the Chinese singing show called I Am Singer in 2017. He has been labeled as the best voice in the world due to his extreme vocal range and pesentations. During the 14 performances in the show he sang in a number of languages,French, Russion, Mandarin, and Italian as well as English, which is kind of impressive since he only speaks his native Khazaktani and some English.
