This video is a prime example of why I love this channel so much. I have actually been playing this game for years and not because Splat showcases it, it's just a really good game supported by great devs. No, the reason I love this channel so much is just how naturally entertaining Splat can be while playing. His vids are just so calming and therapeutic to me. True, he does introduce quality titles that might not have otherwise caught my attention, but his vids are just a good time in and of themselves. One of my favorite channels on YT.

A cool aspect about this game versus this type of city defense games is that difficulty scales the more land you secure from the enemy, which means there's a lot less time pressure you get with games like They Are Billions or Age of Darkness, making it one of the chillest games in the genre.

17:01 By the time I moved from Japan back to the US, I was pretty well used to earthquakes. So one day I'm riding with my boss and we're at an ATM getting cash for lunch. When the van starts rocking, my boss, who was already in a bad mood, yells, "Who the hell is shaking the van!?". I point at the bank windows, which were visibly vibrating, and said evenly, "We're having an earthquake." Suddenly the boss goes from anger to panic. Later on, he remarked he was amazed that I referred to an active earthquake like I was reading a stock report.

Walt Disney figured out that a guest will carry his trash a maximum of 30 feet. So the trash cans are distributed in such a way that you are never more than 30 feet away from one, no matter where you are in the part.

It's worrying if the average human has the mindset that means they won't carry their trash more than 30 feet and just dump it. But then I guess I just have to look at the aftermath of music festivals. It's incredibly disappointing (and disgusting). It really puzzles me. Laziness? No thoughts, head empty? Complete apathy?

Games like this, that you can play on auto pilot are perfect when you want to play a game, but aren't ready for intense action. I find that The Last Starship is my current favorite like this, but I might have added a new one. Thanks for this, and this is why I enjoy this channel, and also why my game library is so large.

Oh boy, you're DOOOOMMED (also an achievement in the game :) ) I seriously love this game, having seen it change so much since it was originally named Retro Pixel Castles, where you used to have Heroes defend you, that I think were randomly born to your villagers. Ray (the Dev) is an amazing person, the things he does it great and he is updating this while working on Rise to Ruins 2.

From what I understand, the developer is adding some Quality of Life stuff and some other bits and pieces but is also working on a full sequel. Could be wrong but yeah - there's definitely talk of a RtR2. Also he doesn't need financing from what I recall :) RtR did really well to the point that he refunded all his patreon people and stuff for their entire time supporting him. Then he did some clever stock market stuff and, I believe, is pretty well set up and is just continuing game dev because its his passion. He was working on a few other projects but not sure whats happened to those now that he's back here.
