But I saw damage from other areas, and my cousin (who is a lineman that get sent out in areas in need) he sent pics it was scary. There was houses destroyed, even saw a house literally floating down the river. My family member and I keep a check and keep hearing death toll rising or hearing people still missing. It’s horrible 😢

"Help is on the way...but it never came"...This song reminds of my childhood, I still remember my 6 yr old self thinking help was coming, but 4 years came & went by no one showed up & life went on...Then I spent decades trying to piece my mind together. Nothing seemed real for a long time, dissociative thoughts even now after 25 yrs. & with all the chaos that is happening now with CoVid, Riots, Police Brutality. I just takes back to my chaos days. For some reason I feel like chaos is my normal & it calms me. When things are so-called "normal" by the world's standards & everyone is "so-called" happy & calm...I can't help but see it as just a signal that the storm is coming, with the cruel world back again to abuse.

I experience it, so do millions of others. Many people have lived in trauma for so long they don't know HOW to live once they're "safe". you're not broken, you've just been conditioned by the environment you grew up in. I hope you're in a safer environment now, and I hope you find the strength to adjust to peace. You deserve it, don't ever let anyone tell you that you don't.

Damn, "...We keep axes in the attics, to see cameras in the sky..." I remember when Katrina happened, I wasn't in Louisiana at the time but our city took in a lot of people who lost their homes into our hotels.... I couldn't even imagine being there when that first levee broke... Literally unimaginable.

The part where they're screaming is so powerful. They scream "Right here" Just like a stranded person who sees help They want people to see and hear them So they scream "WE'RE OVER HERE. WE NEED HELP. WE'RE RIGHT HERE"

Hayden Harrison, I've been down there to help rebuild, and seen the devastation, the many lives reduced to Xs on walls and doors, and the places where houses were washed away, gone to the Presbytere museum that shows a glimpse of it all, and all I can say is...I'm sorry, dude. Words can't express what you must have gone through, what you probably still are going through, with the utter failure of the government to do any more than a token amount of help. I wish you luck in the rebuilding of your life, even though it will never be the same. The organization that I went down with is St Bernard Project, and they are still there. Obviously I don't know what it's like to get their help, but if you are still living down there and want help, they had us doing everything, from drywalling to installing new doors to getting rid of a ton of weeds...they're good people. Obviously it's never going to be like what it was like 10 years ago before the Hurricane, but they may be able to help rebuild what they can. www.stbernardproject.org/new-orleans.html

Gets me every time when the son sees a corpse and trips over the branches due to surprise. Then, dad, without a second thought, immediately leaps to his feet and jumps in to rescue him. Fantastic acting and portrayal of what many people experienced during this madness.

The help is on the way they said, but it never came. Now i have no home, no car, no job, a dead wife and living in a dark cold alley with other homeless people. Luckily it was just a nightmare, but remember, however, that you can instantly lose everything and everyone you love. So be happy for the things you have and the people who cares about you. Protect your self and those around you, the world can be a dangerous place to at times.

Damnit...their videos get to me everytime. It's not like they made one song and one video to impact society, this is a band demanding change. All their songs impacted the way i think about tragedy, love, and battles we face in this world.. not alot of bands can do that. So much thought are put into their music, its incredible the lyrical talent and musical talent this band has. Please never change that.

That's what they tell you because they don't want everyone to mass evacuate all at once or create a bottleneck. Only the idiots stay put. The best thing you can do is buy or find a small boat early, tie it to the roof or keep it somewhere safe fueled up and ready to go. Then when you're flooded out, start it up and get out of there. The sun beating down on an asphalt roof in summer amidst a sea of water is easily 120F and greater. No chance of surviving on a roof.

I was pretty young when my family and I were hit by Katrina, but I still remember the panic of the evacuation and the devastation we came back to. Growing up, I learned just how many people were willing to city idly by and let our city die. Between that knowledge and seeing our house still bear scars from Katrina for nearly two decades after the fact, this song always hits harder every time I listen to it.
