the thing I like the most about Dance Gavin Dance is they're not necessarily experimental for the sake of being experimental. They try new things and are creative but the choices they make are always thought out and aren't solely to be different. The progression is logical and it isn't "lol we need more money" and that's something that's profound about a band that's stretching 8 albums. Many bands can't go past 3 albums before selling out and changing their sound to the scene's musical zeitgeist (musikgeist?) to try to squeeze as much money out before losing mass appeal, but Dance Gavin Dance has managed to keep my interest for 8 continuous albums without skipping a single beat. at no point do I ever worry about dance gavin dance's next album because I know there's going to be at least something on there that makes it worth listening, because they don't fuck over their core fan base like so many other bands

I’d argue this is also how Rush stayed relevant. Completely different band I know, but instead of selling out, they took whatever sounds were relevant to the era (like synthesizers in the 80’s) and made something out of it. Apparently back in the 70’s, a record company asked them to make a “radio friendly” album, and instead they replied by making 2112. One of the best rock albums of all time, and nothing else has ever sounded like it

Daniel Heusler tilian is a fantastic vocalist. And has the best harmony with Jon mess, and the best thing that even happen to dGd. But Jonny is on a whole nother level. You are welcome to your opinion. But when it comes to raw vocal tallent and range, Jonny is unreal. I first heard to dGd by going to the acceptance speech concert, so I don't have that old love bias opinion the the original fans have. I just give credit where it's due.

So one of my favorite things about DGD is that Jon Mess uses his voice as an additional instrument. It's why what he sings is usually so inane, the words don't matter as much as the sounds they make and how that fits into the whole musical composition. In Care, Jon manages to do both: words that matter AND sound good within the song. Such extreme talent from all of them.

@@RuseGuise As introductions, I'd recommend Midnight Crusade, Inspire the Liars, Chucky vs The Giant Tortoise, We Own the Night, Betrayed By the Game, Death of a Strawberry, Strawberry Swisher Pt. 3, Spooks, And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman, and, Lemon Meringue Tie. Covers alot of their most popular stuff, their current singer (Tillian), and their first singer (Jonny Craig).

I got the honour to see them live. This is not edited for vocal imperfections. They sound like this live, and I can only say that about two artists. They are pure to the core.

So, i believe that the fire he starts buring in the house symbolizes their love and everything they built together and the smoke at the end of the video (after his wife puts down her ring and walks away) is their love dying away and the fire is out when he wakes up.
