I don't know what it is about DGD, but I just discovered them recently at the age of 26 - and I feel like their music is something I was truly missing and perhaps even longing for during my teen years - and I'm now making up for that lost time. Holy fuck they're incredible.

The original artist is, Mattias Adolfsson (check him out). John mimics his drawings and animates it. (This isn't saying John can't draw and isn't the artist for the videos, but the style and concepts come from Mattias). Keep up the great work Mr. Howe - more people should subscribe to you!

If you really think about the different style they play in their music it’s amazing and I’ve always loved them bc of how they switch the sound and beat but it blends in so harmonically together and make a beautiful piece of art and I love it. Make sure you all look up the backstory on this song when you can. Tilian’s dad was a longtime Scientologist, and Inspire the Liars is basically a response to Tilian growing up around it (he’s from Clearwater, Florida) and his dad leaving Scientology. Makes the song that much more powerful knowing about it.

Dance Gavin dance has always had a type of music that shows their diversity when it comes to alternative or rock music bc it has climax and a slow low and it builds you back up and down but I love it bc they keep you going and pumped with type of artistic perspective they play. You have to have an ear for what they are playing. It’s not rhetorical lyrics but listen to the guitar and drums it’s musically amazing

It seems like every week I discover a new song or two from this band that I just have on repeat. We own the night was the first song I heard from this DGD but inspire the liars definitely lifted it off. And the more I listen to them, the more I can’t help to believe that there’s some real gold behind the lyrics of John mess. I don’t regret for a moment that the first concert I ever attended was 9/21/2021. I went by myself because My friends don’t really listen to this type of music but I loved every moment of the concert. Such an underrated band.

It's about the beginning of mankind then the writing of the Bible. Rabbits are reincarnated humans sent to earth by tillian and Jon aka the starters of the "new" religion. Start a religion and even plan our own demise =Christianity or other religions for that matter. That's my take and I am a philosophical border like schizo /asd having mfer. I don't take meds and I'm very religious. Also would be interested to hear some opinions on this...

Tillian grew up with a family involved in Scientology. He doesn't talk about it much, so I cannot say for sure how indoctrinated he was, but given his father was very involved, I would assume it had a lasting impact on his life. Enough to write this song, and Evaporate.

I just discovered this song and can’t stop listening to it!!! I turn it on FIRST, every time I’m in the mood to listen to music, or am driving! Tbh I was surprised when I looked at the date it was posted- I honestly assumed it was from around my teen years, around 2004-‘08! It’s so similar to the rock style that was so popular at that point. I’m thrilled to find a newer band who enjoys that style as well. I’m not sure if it would be called rock-ballad-screamo, or what? Any way you guys are amazing, and the high notes you can reach really elevates the song IMO ❤️
