It was a crass thing to say in that context. All I can think in his defence is that he wasn't listening to what Starmer had said, but it wasn't a trap from Starmer and it is natural he would be upset by it. I think it is a shame you want to make a dig at Starmer over something so obvious. It isn't about your views, but about basic respect.

I am no fan of Sunak, but he was right about Starmer. If the Labour leader can't bring himself to say that a woman is an adult human female, an accurate and truthful statement, for fear of of offending someone, then he isn't fit to be prime minister.

It's not a one off slip of a comment, he is constantly making trans "jokes". It shows how far the trans community has to go when the media describes this as a "booboo". I'm pretty sure if it had been a racist or homophobic joke in front of the bereaved mother of a hate crime, the panel would be taking it a little more seriously. This entire discussion is about the BS politics of it all. How about sparing a couple of seconds to think how that mother was feeling; after all the platitudes and fake sympathy he gave her earlier, to hear that must have been heartbreaking
