Where is this money going to come from? He can't just conjure it out of thin air. They ought to increase tax on the super rich, energy companies, stop massive monopolies like Amazon from completely avoiding paying any tax in the UK. I know we live in a capitalist society, but when there's such a huge imbalance where the super rich are accumulating more wealth than ever at the cost of the masses, it just isn't sustainable. Look, I have my gripes about Rishi but Susanna was being unreasonable and extremely biased here, not even listening to him when she was supposed to be the host, shaking her head and interrupting him constantly. In all fairness, Susanna Reid has clearly got an agenda while asking questions. Also, she obviously either does not understand economics or pretends not to understand when Rishi has clearly explained the context in which he had to make certain decisions (such as war and a pandemic- two unprecedented and unexpected events that most around the world were not prepared for) to bring the inflation down for the benefit of UK's citizens at large. He is trying his best to bring the inflation down but then you get a half-baked reporter cutting him off while speaking and asking the same questions more or less by just citing different examples of people facing problems. The hard truth is that it is not possible to satisfy each and everyone like this. There will be some who project their personal matters and blame everything on the government. Well, another leader or party would not have done this differently in the best interests of the nation. If they did, it would be an utter chaos in the long run.

Myself and my husband get £80 each a week (Contributory ESA). On top of that is my husband's private pension of £60. We aren't entitled to the 'Cost Of Living' payments. A few days ago, on a benefit's group , a young woman asked when her £300 cost of living payment would go in the bank. Her husband earns £45K a year and she gets UC 'top up' for children and child care costs. How is this even fair? On top of this, our local council are making us pay £60 towards our rent each week and £75 a month council tax - we are on one meal a day. This is because we've worked in the past - it's a joke
