My brother and I went to your concert in Knoxville Tennessee in 2022. I lost him July of 2023 to suicide. This is one of my favorite hymns. Neither of us are religious, but this is absolutely beautiful. I’ll be playing this at his Memorial on the 31st of this month. Thank you beautiful souls. ✨

This is the song my grandmother hummed and sang all the time. She lived and died in Appalachia, VA, so this is SO very moving. Thank you, Rising Appalachia!

The spirit of the almighty swirls, swims and lives in the vibrations of this rendition. The voices, beats and instruments create the dwelling place of the most high and she is well pleased. Beautifully done

This song has always been special to me. It was sung at my Grandma’s funeral. These girls did a rendition that gave me goosebumps and touched my soul. I loved it. My friend Deirdre introduced me to their music a few months ago, and I haven’t been disappointed. This was absolutely beautiful.

One day I was listening to this and the day was pretty gray. But when the song started the clouds opened and the sun shined. It was like God giving me a hug.

A lovely thought Jacob, but don't you find that interposing God into a beautiful moment actually interferes with being in that moment? Just curious.
@jacoblein21188 жыл бұрын
Not really. no. All good things happening I thank Him for them. And I thank the women for sharing their talent with the world. And this song is an old spiritual sung in churches. Two lovely and talented women, singing a song that was dedicated to God had touched me that day. Everything in that moment I believe was my God working. personally for me because in that moment it was just me watching the video by myself. Feeling down in the dumps. And then I hear these lovely voices singing an old church spiritual and as soon as the song started out comes the sun rays behind me. And since I believe in God (Not trying to make anyone else believe) I believe that was him telling me that one day, I'll fly away with him. Just like in that song.
@MrDorbel8 жыл бұрын
Jacob Lein What a good answer. Although an atheist, I am touched by simple faith in song. Sister Rosetta Tharpe knocks me out and when the sublime Iris deMent sings Leaning On The Everlasting Arms or God Walks the Dark Hills, I get what it is all about. Doesn't lead me as far as wanting to share it though! Check these songs and singers (perhaps you know them already) and smile at the thought that we can share the feeling if not he belief. It's a funny old world.

Some glad morning when this life is over I'll fly away To a home on God's celestial shore I'll fly away I'll fly away Oh glory I'll fly away In the morning When I die hallelujah by and by I'll fly away Just a few more weary days and then I'll fly away To a home where joys shall never end I'll fly away I'll fly away Oh glory I'll fly away In the morning When I die hallelujah by and by I'll fly away When the shadows of this life have grown I'll fly away To a home where joys shall never end I'll fly away I'll fly away Oh glory I'll fly away In the morning When I die hallelujah by and by I'll fly away Some glad morning when this life is over I'll fly away To a home where joys shall never end I'll fly away I'll fly away Oh glory I'll fly away In the morning When I die hallelujah by and by I'll fly away Just a few more weary days and then I'll fly away To a home where joys shall never end I'll fly away I'll fly away Oh glory I'll fly away In the morning When I die hallelujah by and by I'll fly away. When the shadows of this life have grown I'll fly away Like a bird from these prison bars I've flown I'll fly away I'll fly away Oh glory I'll fly away In the morning When I die hallelujah by and by I'll fly away I'll fly away Oh I'll fly away Oh glory I'll flay away In the morning When I die hallelujah by and by I'll fly away
