Rising damp, and silly damp reports

When this Wiltshire homeowner had a number of local so called 'expert damp survey reports', which included silly recommendations, based on a non invasive survey, you can imagine what they were thinking.
Often these reports dupe naive people into thinking a thorough investigation has been carried out. Fortunately this homeowner wasn't naive!
In reality the one trick pony 🐴 normally just leave damp meter stab marks in the wall, and skirting boards, and the root cause hasn't been identified. This is a classic example where I found the actual cause of the damp issues, which were rectified. Defective drains, high ground levels, modern masonry paint love to spread damp through a building.

The insurance paid for the underpinning, which was carried out by another contractor I carried out the other repairs 👍 as you can see the one trick pony got found out 👍

A good damp man would be inspecting the outside of the property usually starting with the gutters and drainage a good damp man knows rising damp is rare as rocking horse…
