Great content Jay. Some of the shows from the 'bad' old days were more 'woke' in a positive way than the BS stuff we have to deal with now. Some people see the old shows to point and call them out as racist for the speech and attitudes seen as unacceptable (don't show it. Bury it. Cancelled), but it actually holds a mirror up to the viewing public and shows a reflection of who we are/were as a society. An award winning sketch from the BBC comedy show 'Goodness Gracious Me' was 'Going for an English', this was a role reversal reflection of the native white UK people going out on a Friday/Saturday night for an Indian curry after/during a night on the drink. Good stuff. And I saw some of my young ignorant self in that sketch. I'm a much better human now (I'm in my 50s). Keep up the reviews. 😀

Spoiler - sort of - at the very end of all the series, it turns out that Philip is not the son of a chief, he was born in the UK. I think it makes it all even funnier when you know that. Also, people need to understand, that unlike the USA, there were very few black people in the UK back then, so they were regarded as exotic and what is seen as racist now, was often just curiosity. In the three years I spent at a teacher training college in Liverpool in the early 1970's there was only one black student - and many of the girls were very keen to date him!!!

White chick from UK been canerowing my hair and black peoples' hair for 25 years and the last few years I've got people telling me I'm racist for wearing it. They think they're being progressive but they're not. I hope this "cultural appropriaiton" thing goes away. Copying cultures is what unites people and removes misconceptions of the other and brings admiration for those practices.

The difference between 99% of Males that do fight and 99% of Women who do fight is incredible. Nearly always after a hard-fought fight the beef is forgotten and each fighter respects the warrior that is his opponent not only is the matter closed but they often become friends but with Women, their animosity and anger could, literally, last a lifetime. There is no compassion for the loser. No "gentlemanly" conduct and no honour at all. Even here, instead of taking her victory gracefully, she starts screaming bitch to the woman she beat...
