Anyone with a brain understands this. There are a section of people who want to be offended by everything.
@andrewmcnulty6789 Жыл бұрын
It’s comedy, from the late 70’s early 80’s which reflects life and the views people had then. One of my favourite sit coms, people will get offended by anything these days it is beyond pathetic. This is the writer’s finest comic creation in my humble opinion.
@bobscratchett5346 Жыл бұрын
@@andrewmcnulty6789 That this programme has been repeated regularly on TV and is currently available on ITVX to stream, shows that NO ONE was, or is today, offended by this show. It’s well written and very well acted. Rigsby always defended Philip and his ignorance was a reflection and joke on him. Yet, people like you, who often are never the butt of these jokes, still love to say ‘people are so easily offended’, even when it doesn’t apply. That’s what’s pathetic. And there are plenty of shows like Rising Damp from the 70s and 80s that didn’t make lazy racist jokes - Steptoe and Son, On The Buses, Dad’s Army, Morecombe and Wise, Man About The House, Open All Hours, The Likely Lads etc. So, trying to justify racism as ‘reflecting the time’ is rubbish.

Julia Higgins well if you think about it,back then it wasn’t about how young and pretty you are,it’s about real life.a lot of family’s back then we’re big,so it wouldn’t be unnatural to see older women have baby’s.
