Hahah he shreds over almost everything here. His technique was downright bizarre given that it was 81/82. His sound was pretty much there already. I wish there were more demo tapes from 79/80. On the Powerhouse record, he sounds like a souped up blackmore. Here, he sounds like Yngwie. I never heard a demo where he was in the middle of creating this original style, like he just stopped being Ritchie and became Yngwie Malmsteen overnight or something.

yngwie’s bends and vibrato and touch are simply beyond every guitarist. it’s all from the heart and he plays with purpose.

He played so great here and i get the demo on chromeband from Frank and listened to it for 3-4 years every day! The demo started with a breathtaking Merlins Castle and the solo was like raw energy. In this evening he plays We burn the sky and dark lady by scorpions at the end.
