Good conversation. I am a 72 yr old widow of 5 years, still healing and finding my way and very thankful for God’s provision each day…..doesn’t mean I don’t have pity parties once in a while while in the valleys and there have been are are still many. But God is good and walks with us-so thankful!

Thank you for sharing your faith and journeys. For 18 years after a divorce, I asked God to prepare a life partner for me and to prepare me for him. In 2021, I reconnected with a friend who had lost his lovely wife. We share our love for God, fsmily, veterans, travel, etc. He showed me true love... God's love. He cared for me while healing from a bad motorcycle accident, and I helped him through his battle with cancer. He passed 2 months ago. He was a blessing in my life. Thank you both for sharing your faith.

This podcast comes at a perfect time for me. At age 68, I am facing retirement in a few months. I am divorced (a long time), mother of a 31 year old son who's married, and the grandmother of a sassy & sweet girl. I have been in a career for 45+ years. I must redefine myself and set goals for my future. What do I want to be or do? Just be ME! And that's ok!

Omgosh, the episodes just keep getting better, Dominique!! Love this one so much, love your friendship with Holley, you both are so blessed to have one another found thru Audrey--it's just so heartwarming!! And what a wonderful silver lining (we were grand-dog & housesitting in Houston during H. Beryl--we never had experienced anything like it--so rough w/o power in the Houston heat/humidity and the clean-up after but nothing like what Holley dealt with) but so thankful in Holley's survivor story, so happy for her now too with a new special beau in her life!!! It all shows how God is working in all of "our" lives. ♥

I can so relate to this conversation. 18 years ago I made a big move from Connecticut to Texas at the age if 50 to begin a new life with my new loving husband. I was home sick for a few months because I lived in Connecticut all my life but moving here brought me a new beginning, new career, and a calmer life with the support of our loving God. Keep sharing and giving hope to women as the transition to new ways of growing as a woman. My heart goes out to both of you!

I agree so much with the lack of compassion of people in these times. While my husband and I were on vacation, we incountered an elder man with a medical situation, and the number of people who walked right past my husband and myself trying to help the elder man was heart breaking. It is such a sad time.

My hubby and I have moved 10 times in 40years with 3 of these being overseas. At the beginning of each move i had to fight the no, I don't want to go, and now amazingly each place holds such dear and precious memories, even the sad times, because each place with its challenges helped me grow and mature. The third world country we worked in for 6 years, in the beginning, held the most fears for me but ended up becoming the most joyful and meaningful time of my life. Our fears are so many times unfounded and irrational, but yes if you let the Lord guide each and every day, all our life can be used for His glory and our blessing.

Hi Dominque! I just want to tell you this episode has to be my favorite so far although I still have other favorites of yours. If you ever have that moment when you wonder if your making a difference, throw that thought out the window! :) I absolutely loved this conversation with you and Holly!! I was so ministered to because of where I am in life right now and I am so encouraged by the strength, courage, transparency, and vulnerability that both you and Holly are willing share. It gives me great hope and encouragement for my future. My favorite thing Holly said was "when it floods just fly". That's what we were born for! We are His beloved and He is determined through His love for us that we will reflect His image in the earth! Love is the answer! Love you bunches!!!! :) P.S. I love it when the Lord blesses us beyond our wildest imaginations like He has for you and Holly.

Just AMAZING how you and Holly have traveled similar roads and specially in the last 2-3 years and even grew up near each other (that I didn't know)...God sure put you on a path to cross through Audrey. The sudden positive changes for both of you suddenly out of the blue, reconnecting with former acquiances in the last year (love / good men who make you happy, met your needs; appreciated, respected, good communication, etc.) and a new life outside of Houston! Just AMAZING! Yes, I agree with Holly " be thankful for the valleys, the darkest season, as its going to be ok", you'll grow in the seasons....hold on tight the good is around the corner. Life for me is about growth and paths....Gods adventure for us!

Thank you for this beautiful conversation. It was like listening into your neighbors phone call with her best friend while you’re sitting on your own back porch. I want to say thank you to Holly for being so real but I also want to say something to you Dominique. I see all the negative comments. And when people see our choices whether it’s a skirt you purchase or a man you’ve chosen to be your partner, it is your choice. No one knows what goes on behind closed doors if it’s the greatest joy and love of your life, then let it be to its fullest. If it’s not, and you learned that you’ve made a mistake, then learn from it. In the meantime, as you say, be blessed and be bold. Love you both.

Holly is right about the comment that as a single woman you often have to be your own cheerleader to get you through the difficult times. Also, moving gets harder as I get older. So much to do without a partner to support you through the process. It is so true that the resilience that is exposed throughout it is gratifying when looking back on it all.

"Exercise humanity" is what I got out of the convo. In fact, I'm going to see about having a tee shirt made w/ that valuable phrase. I try to practice it every day but I also think it in various instances throughout the day when there's a choice for someome to make: on the highway, street, in line, @ work, when someone is rude/nice and especially when there's a dire situation whose resolution will be extreme either way. Thank you Dominique and Holley for sharing another inspiring convo w/ us. 💛💛💛

What an absolute wonderful podcast. I think it’s the best yet. It really gives me reason to pause. I am 79 and have felt like sometimes my life is over. But I really in my heart of hearts know that it’s not. I am very.blessed and healthy. Just trying to find my way and my next adventure. I just moved to Conroe 11 months ago to be closer to my family. But I haven’t made really any new friends because I just feel emotionally I haven’t been ready. I have always been vulnerable and it has taken a lot out of my life. So I guess I’m in a season where it hurts too much to open up anymore. But to see the friendship between you and Holly is absolutely wonderful. I guess my prayer is that God would bring a Holly into my life.

"As I age, I want an easier existence." "Even having you (clothing) in my house is like I'm holding on /an open door." Yes! ENERGY still goes to them if they are still with us! Thank you, ladies, for the reminder. I've known for more than a year that I am going to consign a few pairs of The Red Soles. I'm appreciative that I could afford/have them. I love the idea of them, the lines of them, the ego pop striding in them experiencing others spot them. And I acknowledge IT'S FUN to strut them, and there's NOTHING WRONG with that. But they HURT. And the strut fun is sort of a defiant, edgy feeling. Very different energy from FULFILLMENT. For me, hiking up a steep hill to a stunning expansive view is a humbling, quiet fulfillment and deep JOY. I'm going to thank the shoes for being in my life, bless them and let another woman experience them. 👠 And my husband is also my l written ist 💚
