RIT Dying ACU uniforms Fail

I Dyed 4 sets of old ACU Uniforms ( Worse uniform the Army ever went to ) I dyed 2 sets Chocolate Brown and 2 sets Apple Green. The brown is to dark and the Green isn't dark enough but I'm happy that they came out looking better than the Grey color it started out as.

apple grreen with half a bottle of peacocok green works well tooo.

Apple green on its own works really well during rain season in c-c-california. The grass is all bright green

Try mixing 1/3 - 1/2 Dark Green with Apple Green. I also used Dark Brown. Be sure you aren't using ACU treated for flash fire (flame retardant), it will make your uniforms pink/red like that.

Hey guys. The biggest issue is that people aren't using enough dye. To achie OD green I used a large plastic garbage can with about 15L of boiling water with vinegar. I did 4 full bottles of peacock green. 1 bottle of choc brown. 2/3 bottle of graphite. I let it soak for about 40 min agitating regularly. I then pulled it out and laid it on a drying rack in the sun. After it was dry I rinsed everything in cold water in the same garbage can. PRO TIP: Have some smaller items around to stick in the dye bath to get the most out of the process. Results may vary but I love the colours I got by adding and removing a little here and there. I didn't want everything to be the exact same colour so I did several pouches in a slightly more brown tone, I did the pack in the OD, I did a bit more ranger green colour by using 1 less green, 1/2 the amount of brown and more graphite... I done a ton of gear like this and it breaks up the shapes more effectively when it isn't a uniform tone for everything. Have fun playing around with these mixtures.

Apple green version is ok. Like Ukraine camo. But chocolate brown verison is bad.
